From Fear into Love: Coping During Panicked Times.

From Fear into Love:

Coping During Panicked Times.

By Rachel Horton White,

Guest writer for Wake Up World.

March 19, 2020.

With all the panic and hysteria in the air, many of us tend to forget that the world around us is a beautiful place around us. The sun is still shining, the birds are chirping and the flowers are emerging.
Let’s move into the pre-frontal cortex (rational thinking) and out of the amygdala (fight or flight). Ask yourself, am I okay right now? If you’re reading this, most likely you are.  Of course, we want to protect the vulnerable from getting sick. Of course, washing our hands thoroughly (without going into obsessive-compulsive mode) is a good idea.
Remember that we are strong, healthy and resilient humans (my family takes elderberry syrup all winter to help with that). Focus on your health, on the good things in your life, and you will raise your personal vibration to invite in more good things.
Fear does the opposite. We have much more power to co-create our lives than we have been taught.
Sure you could try to think of the worst case scenario of what “could” happen, but how likely is it (on a scale of 1 to 10) going to happen?
They want us to stay in fear, since we are easier to control. And boy, is it working.
Does it really feel good to live in this state of being? Do what brings you joy. You deserve it. And this will keep you strong and healthy!
Take the time to breathe, to go outside in the fresh air, to take care of yourself naturally.
The worry, the stress and the anxiety is not serving us and we need to let it go to free ourselves from the social, mental and spiritual prison that they have had us in for thousands of years….
And why are so many people buying in to the freak-out of the mainstream manipulation? There’s this thing called “confirmation bias.” This is the psychological state, which happens to all us humans, in which we look for something to confirm a previously-held belief. For instance, we buy a shirt that we really don’t like and paid too much for, but we pretend that we like to avoid the painful realization that we bought a shirt we wished we hadn’t.
This is because the Ego part of who we are wants us to believe that we are “right.” So, in spite of feelings (and evidence) that something is not actually true, we look for reasons to confirm our long-held stance (of what we believe or have been taught) as correct to avoid being “wrong.”
Now, this is happening in a rampant way. Many of us don’t want to believe that we are being manipulated, that the media and the government would skew the truth to make us afraid. It would be too painful to come to the realization that those who “rule” and “control” things actually do not always have our best interests in mind, but instead are wedded to the profits of the pharmaceutical industry and helping the richest 1% get richer, and helping those in power stay in control.
Of course, when you look back at history and fear-based things, it happens over and over. It’s hard to see that you’re being manipulated when you’re in it, but once you turn off the news/TV, start meditating, and opening the third eye, you start to see the truth.
But this awakening to truth is scary to many people, as it shakes up their world too much. This is why I believe some people are so vehemently attacking people trying to share what they feel to be true. On a subconscious level, this truth threatens their worldview so much that it’s like being told that there’s no Santa Claus. Or that you believed someone to be your parent but that they are actually not.
This type of information can be so life-shattering that the Ego fights it to stay in a safe place. So some will us the term conspiracy theorist” or other labels to try to neatly put you in a box that they can understand and dismiss. It’s almost too much to bear for some people, so there is a “shoot the messenger” mentality (or confirmation bias).
There is a silver lining to all this I believe… the powers that be they are so desperate to maintain control that they are pulling out all of the stops.. unsuccessfully in the long run, though, I believe. We are, as humans one by one, awakening and moving toward light, love and healing.
We can find gratitude in our hearts for this corona virus that is awakening us. We can find gratitude for those looking out for friends and neighbors. We can find gratitude for people caring for each other, for time spent at home together with our families.
We are being asked to have hope, to not let fear overtake us. Things are still unfolding, and while we may want to lash out out of self-preservation, can we find it in our hearts to understand how strongly people have been conditioned by fear? They have been conditioned by the media, by the companies, by the forces desperately trying to maintain control. These forces are powerful, they are strong.
But love is stronger. When we are ready, may our anger transmute into love. Yes, we may protect ourselves as we deserve to, but turning against our neighbors and friends is just what they want us to do: “divide and distract.”
To shift the vibration of fear, we must work on our own vibrations – moving from anger/fear into love/gratitude/compassion. We can forgive and help others who are suffering, so heavily conditioned and influenced by fear, as many of us have been. Try this exercise:
STOP – Stop, Take a Moment, Observe, Proceed. You can use this acronym to remember to “STOP and Shift” fearful thoughts/emotions. When an unwanted thought/feeling comes up, pause for a moment. Just observe that this is a temporary sensation that you are having. See if you want to attach to the thought/emotion and create stories around it. Maybe you do not. In that moment, you make a choice whether to get on the ride and take off with the train of thought, or you can let the train leave the station, letting it pass on by. If you are worrying, you can ask yourself, Do I really believe this? Is this true 100% of the time? Chances are you will see that everything is usually okay and has been that way in the past.
We are the way-showers, we must lead the way with our light. We can also begin reprogramming our thinking with mantras like these:
“Love and only love may enter my energetic space. I am safe. I am free. I take my my own power. I am a sovereign being responsible for my own choices. I am strong and in control of my own life.”
People have been giving away their power for so long, and that a part of our own vibration has created this onslaught of fear.
We can learn to take back our personal power, to stop allowing others to tell us what we should do… and to trust our own hearts and intuition. It’s our responsibility as individuals to shift our vibrations so that we stop subconsciously allowing ourselves to be controlled, as part of us thinks it’s easier to do that than to take back control of our lives in our own hands.
And we can help allay the worries of those who are scared right now. I will be pausing every day when I can to imagine the cords of fear and anger and control being pulled out of our country and out of the planet. And we can quiet our minds regularly (like this weekly Sunday live, complimentary, online meditation I will be doing), to quiet our own fears. I hope you’ll join me, as this visualization of light and healing can help in magical ways.
You can listen to/watch a recent “impromptu light meditation” I guided on my personal Facebook page to help spread healing and light.
Planetary healing starts from the individual level, from our own healing and then this energy spills out to others.
Blessings to those of you who are boldly pointing out the absolute insanity happening at such a widespread level. Keep spreading the truth and the light! We need you, and we will get through this. May we all see the light. May we have hope. May we stand for what is right, steadfast and strong.

Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong Shown to Be Effective for Back Pain Snippet.

Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong Shown to Be Effective for Back Pain Snippet.

Back pain: we’ve almost all had it at some point, and everyone knows that sinking feeling when you realize you’re going to be in pain and with limited movement for a while. Statistics suggest that 80% of people worldwide will experience lower back pain in their lifetime, lasting for anything from a few days to several months [1]. 8% of us will go on to develop chronic back pain which is bad enough to limit our day to day activities [2] – intensely physically debilitating but also psychologically distressing.

The normal treatment for back pain in our mainstream healthcare systems ranges from nothing at all – the go away and put it with it model – to the use of opioid painkillers, physical therapy (physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy) and self-help stretches. Sometimes people are offered cognitive behavioural therapy to help deal with the psychological effects of the pain. Surgery is sometimes an option if the pain has a specific, identifiable cause. However, the efficacy of all of these interventions is questionable in the long term, not to mention that they are economically expensive and, in the case of drug interventions, potentially harmful.

However, a new review has highlighted how “movement-based mind-body interventions”, such as yoga, tai chi and qigong, can be effective treatments for back pain. Yoga is popular worldwide for its physical and mental health benefits, while tai chi combines gentle exercise with mindfulness. Qigong blends slow movements with body awareness. The review, carried out by Florida Atlantic University and the Lynn College of Nursing, has been published in Holistic Nursing Practice, and calls for more research into this potentially promising area [3].

25 of the studies reviewed by researchers involved the benefits of yoga for back pain; there were 4 studies into tai chi and back pain and just 3 involving qigong and back pain. Researchers found that yoga and tai chic appeared to be effective therapies, resulting in a reduction of pain, a reduction of psychological distress, and improved movement function. There were not enough qigong studies for them to draw reliable conclusions, but they do believe that there is potential there too. “Yoga, tai chi and qigong could be used as effective treatment alternatives to pain medications, surgery, or injection-based treatments such as nerve blocks, which are associated with high incidence of adverse effects in treating lower back pain,” said said Juyoung Park, Ph.D, one of the study authors [4].

The beauty of these movement-based mind-body interventions appears to be that they link gentle bodily stretches and mobility-enhancing movements with a meditative, mindful or spiritual psychological component too. The researchers measured evidence of a positive effect on pain perception, coping strategies and quality of life through yoga, tai chi and qigong for back pain sufferers, and found improvements in all three metrics.

However, with research in this area currently thin on the ground, particularly with regard to tai chi and qigong, more research is needed if we are to see doctors and nurse practitioners routinely referring patients to yoga, tai chi or qigong for back pain. The possibility is intriguing, nonetheless – and such a direction of travel would help to move away from the potential harmful effects of drug based therapy, as well as boosting the psychological morale of those suffering from chronic back pain.

Think You Can’t Meditate? 4 Tips to Help You Snippet.

By Nikki Harper.

Staff Writer for Wake Up World.

January 15, 2020

.

Meditation is known to bring enormous benefits to our lives. Numerous studies have shown that it can help to boost creativity, calm anxiety, increase productivity and lower blood pressure – and it’s also one of the best ways to create a more spiritual approach to daily life. But not everyone finds it easy – in fact, starting a daily meditation practice can be quite a challenge. If you’ve tried but think you “can’t meditate”, you’re not alone. Here are some tips to help you get going.
1. Think Little, But Often

Many beginners to meditation think they simply don’t have time to meditate – who can afford to give up half an hour a day in these stressful, busy times? In truth, however, meditation doesn’t have to be done for very long at all in order to bring you benefits. You can start with as little as five minutes – the crucial thing is that you meditate every day.

Building up a habit of any kind takes practice, but recent informal research has shown that once you have meditated for 11 days in a row, you’re likely to keep going. Can you give up five minutes a day for 11 days? Yes, you can. And – as you can see below – you don’t even necessarily have to stop your daily tasks in order to meditate.

2. Meditation in Motion

Another common misconception is that you must sit still to meditate. Not so. You can enter a meditative state of mind while engaged in any routine task where you can safely allow your mind to wander. Meditate while you’re weeding the garden, or washing the dishes. Rhythmic, repetitive actions lend themselves especially well to mediation, so you could meditate while you’re walking or running. Think of a single word mantra such as “hope” or “peace” and simply silently repeat it with each step you take. Try to focus just on the word, and nothing else, and you’ll quickly enter a meditative state.

Some activities, such as tai chi, deliberately encourage a meditative state of mind while you repeat cycles of movements – look into this if you think it might suit you.

3. The Meditative Gaze

The whole “empty your mind” thing can be very daunting to beginners in meditation, as it is simply so hard to tune out our busy thoughts. Many beginners find it helpful to have an object to focus on rather than trying to close their eyes to meditate. If you meditate outside, choose a simple object such as a stone or a log. Get yourself comfortable, and just stare at your object, bringing your eyes back to it each time you find them wandering. Remember, you’re only aiming for about five minutes, so this is not as difficult as you might think.

If you’re indoors, a candle flame is a classic meditation tool, and sitting in a darkened room can also help to still your mind.

4. Guided Meditations

Meditation doesn’t have to be done in silence. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with listening to a guided meditation track in order to help you. There are thousands to choose from, ranging from almost silence, to chants, to imaginative and creative meditation “journeys” to wondrous places. Why not choose a selection and experiment to see what suits you best? You won’t enjoy all kinds of guided meditation, or all kinds of voices, but you’re sure to find something which works for you.

Likewise, meditative music can be used to aid your meditation. If you use music, it helps to use the same short track each time you meditate – soon, your brain will come to recognize this as “meditation time”, which will help you to enter a contemplative state much faster.

Once preconceptions about how to meditate are swept aside, you’ll probably find it easier than you think. Think you can’t meditate? Try these tips and see – you’ll probably surprise yourself.

10 Easy Tips to Help Your Child Learn to Meditate

By Nikki Harper.

Staff Writer for Wake Up World.

.

Meditation can bring so many benefits to children, from an awareness of and control over their own emotions, to empathy for others, lower stress levels and a more focused attitude.
But for kids, especially young ones, the idea of sitting in silence for half an hour isn’t exactly appealing. Fortunately, there are easy ways to introduce your child to the benefits of meditation. Do this right and they’ll take the first steps towards a daily meditation practice which will stand them in good stead throughout their adult and teen years.

1 Demystify the Process

In order to teach your child to meditate, you need to set a good example. Let them see you meditating, and explain to them how good you feel afterwards. If you don’t make this a part of your own day, why should they? Always practice what you preach.

2 Introduce Simple Awareness Concepts

With a young child, one of the best ways to introduce the concept of meditation is to indulge in some cloud gazing. Just lie together and watch the clouds drift past. Turn it into a game, and encourage your child to really focus on the clouds and their changing shapes, and to try not to be distracted by anything else.
You can also introduce some sound awareness too. Get your child to close their eyes, lie quietly and describe to you all of the sounds they can hear. Can they tell where the sounds are coming from? Can they begin to notice, too, the absence of a sound when one stops? All of this will help them to gradually develop mindfulness, and to enjoy sitting quietly.

3 Get Some Celebrity Help

A surprising number of celebrities have some kind of meditation practice. From Kobe Bryant to Katy Perry and Kourtney Kardashian, musicians, sports starts and actors across the spectrum are tuned in to the benefits of meditation. Find out if any of your child’s favorite celebrities meditate, and tell them about it. Better yet, if they’re old enough, get them to find out for you. Discoveries like this can magically turn meditation into something cool.

4 Create a Meditation Corner

Once your child is willing to give meditation a go, help them to create a quiet meditation corner in their bedroom. Children will love finding some special pebbles or nature treasures to go on their own little meditation altar, and you can either buy or create a special pillow of their choice for them to use when meditating (and only when meditating).

5 Set Your Child Up for Success

Choose the timing of your child’s first meditation sessions carefully. There’s no point in setting them up for failure by suggesting they meditate when they’re over-excited, rushed or stressed out. Just before bedtime is usually a good time, but you could choose any time of day when your child is generally calm and relaxed.

6 Stick to the Routine

Once you and your child have chosen a time of day, try to stick to it. Like every other habit, a meditation practice takes some work to establish, but it will help if you child grows to know when to expect meditation time – they will even begin to look forward to it.

7 Don’t Set Your Expectations Too High

To begin with, just a few moments of meditation is more than enough. Don’t expect your child to sit for ages, and certainly don’t show your disappointment if they don’t. Little by little does it. Praise and encourage any meditation time they do get in, without trying to force the issue.

8 Be Imaginative

Many children will love it if you act as their “guide” on a guided meditation journey. This is your chance to let your mind soar, and come up with some beautiful and fun journeys for them to undertake. After a while, if your child is old enough, he or she will be able to create their own journeys.

9 Choose Some Kid-Friendly Meditation Tracks

There is a wide range of guided meditation products and tracks for children, so choose a few that you know your child will enjoy, and add to their repertoire of meditation options. Or you could even record your own!

10 Don’t Limit Your Child’s Options

Young children love to move around, and your child may not do well at seated meditation. That’s perfectly OK. Consider encouraging your child to find regular meditation moments while they’re on the swing, for example, or while wandering around the yard. Just because you sit still to mediate doesn’t mean they should have to!
By following these ten tips, you’ll be able to gently introduce the benefits of meditation to even the youngest child. It’s never too early to start, and sharing meditation is a very loving and bonding thing to do.
After a while, you should start to notice a drop in your child’s stress levels, improved sleep, improved attention and improved behavior. The wonders of meditation have a great deal to offer your little one, so why not get started today?

The Wisdom of No Escape: Astrology Forecast July 14th – 21st 2019 ~ Lorna Bevan,

The Wisdom of No Escape:

 Astrology Forecast July 14th – 21st 2019.

By Lorna Bevan

Guest writer for Wake Up World.

July 14th, 2019.

Originally published at hareinthemoonastrology.co.uk and reproduced here with permission.
A heads up! This astrology means business and permanent, irrevocable endings. On Monday the energy turns heavy as the Sun opposes Pluto just before the Lunar Eclipse on July 16 2019 at 24° Capricorn.
The eclipse seismic shock window is active between July 13-19 but the karmic eclipse ripples will continue to reverberate through your life wherever you have 22-26 degrees Capricorn until the next eclipse in December in 6 months. The last eclipse on this degree was July 16 2000 – think back to what ended around that time.

The Moon in Capricorn is conjunct Pluto square Disruptor Eris and opposite Venus/Node of Fate/Sun in Cancer. It pre-figures the epochal January 12 2020 exact Saturn/Pluto conjunction and lunar eclipse, intensifying this powerful cycle of Collapse and Contraction – with a capital C. Pluto, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Jupiter and Chiron are all retrograde, excavating old issues for resolution. This is a potentially uncomfortable wild card eclipse delivering unwelcome reality checks by changing circumstances and relationships around you so you have no option but to face issues head on. It suggests a missed step somewhere along the line
With the Great Eliminator being occulted, you enter the burning fields. This is the time when anything false is likely to get forcefully deconstructed. Pluto resonates with all things absolute, either absolute light or absolute darkness. It can feel as if a part of you is being extinguished.
Pluto Keywords: evolutionary burn; alchemy; power; Truth; soma and psyche; transformation; loss, elimination; death; impermanence; resurrection; regeneration; re-birth
Pluto’s symbol is the circle of Spirit being cooked in the crucible or transformed in the Grail so the more you collaborate with the process, the faster you move through it.
Let go of old ideas about who you are as you witness the end of many of your previous creations, roles, labels, careers, alliances and belief systems. You are not failing, you are not dying – you are re-orienting.

Aries Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your career or public image. Ask yourself: Am I aligning my personal mission with who I am in the world? Do I act out of authenticity or expediency? Is what I do congruent with my core values and if not, why not? Is my ladder up against the wrong tree and what can I do about it? Am I doing this work, offering this service for the money or do I want to leave behind a legacy? Expect sudden re-arrangement of circumstances outside your control to open up new possibilities by removing you from situations that you’ve long outgrown.

Finding a meaningful role.

Taurus Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your angle of communication and connection. Your world view, your belief system and your inner mental circuitry are all out of date and need shaking up. Your old ways of thinking are no longer getting you where you need to be. Before the eclipse does it for you, upgrade your networks, then develop your one to one skills of rapport and empathy. You need to expand your horizons – literally and metaphorically -by teaching, mentoring, learning something that makes you think. Expect to encounter people who challenge all your assumptions about how the world works.

Inside Out Thinking.

Gemini Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost financially. Are you insecure? How strong are your personal foundations? How well are you managing your money and resources? Do you have reserves? Are you underestimating the market value of your own skills and talents? This Plutonic wild card eclipse is a reminder that the only constant is change and that you create your own sense of safety and security in the world. How can you package your gifts and personal resources to add value for both for others and for yourself? This eclipse opens doors where none existed before-will you walk through them?

Everything starts with self-belief.

Cancer Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your relationships. Two weeks’ ago, July 2nd’s New Moon eclipse in your own sign started a new cycle of self-care, building sanctuary and support, now this Plutonic eclipse in Capricorn eliminates outworn contracts-both personal and professional. People may leave, different people arrive. Relationships end or new ones begin. No matter how it plays out, underneath it all is a need for you re-balance your personal dynamics. Are you overly co-dependent or overly independent? Is trust or control an issue for you? Are your closest relationships keeping pace with who you are today or are they keeping you small? Which contracts need either re-negotiating or ending?

Expressing a new way of being in the world.

Leo Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in how you care for your body/mind/spirit. It’s time to delete certain habits, practices or routines before they lead to a crisis in your health or wellbeing. And with eliminator Pluto behind you, you have the willpower and determination to finally overcome toxic or self-sabotaging behaviours. An important part of this healing is becoming a human being instead of a human doing. Ask yourself: where in my life am I acting against my own interests? What habits am I tolerating in myself that I would not accept from others? How can I clear the river of my own ecology-my food, my exercise, my friendships, my work/life balance?

Your wellbeing is the foundation on which everything else rests.

Virgo Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your angle of self-expression. It’s time to step outside your comfort zone and explore more interesting avenues of creativity. It’s time to claim your authentic voice and put yourself out there to be seen and heard. With Pluto behind you, find the determination to ignore old fears about being rejected or ridiculed for what you have to offer. This eclipse will catalyse a whole series of creative births as it ripples out over the next 6 months. Ask yourself: Where am I not feeling what I feel, knowing what I know, saying what I believe or doing what feels most right? I f I spoke my truth, what would I say, how would I say it and who is my audience?

Sharing from your heart and soul.

Libra Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in the foundations of your life. Pluto occulted in your 4th House- womb and the tomb-is excavating and bringing into the light of day your ancestral inheritance along with all your imprinted beliefs and rules left over from childhood .Questions arise such as: “Where do I belong, who is my family and do I truly feel at home where I am now?”. Changing dynamics at home with a partner or children will get your attention. You might need to re-balance time spent at work and time spent at home. Expect situations to shift around you and be ready to create a way of life that fits who you are becoming, not who you used to be.

Your sanctuary is your inner resilience.

Scorpio Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost across your 3rd and 9th Houses of perception and expansive growth, revealing via circumstances beyond your control, where your beliefs and worldview are inaccurate or misleading. Your inner map, inner GPS and mental circuitry need updating. Eclipses in the 3rd House of connection bring events that shine a spotlight on your blindsides so you have no choice but to make changes. You may need to upgrade your communication skills to be able to create rapport with whoever you come across. Anything that expands your horizons-travel, study, meeting new people, teaching, writing-has the potential to bring you the new information you need.

Deliberately shake up your belief system.

Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your financial zone. If you’ve been ignoring problems by denial or hiding your head in the sand, Pluto conjunct the eclipse is about to deliver an ultimatum that can’t be ignored. Ask yourself: Where am I out of integrity?
What’s chronic, repetitive, or inflamed in my financial dealings? What needs to be cleaned up so I can be free to do and offer my best work in the world? Which patterns need eliminating so I can build security? This is a wonderful opportunity to take stock then re-align your monetary goals with your purpose. If you step up, Pluto’s gift to you is the utter determination and willpower to plug leaks, drop toxic habits and create more personal security.

“Surviving is important. Thriving is elegant.” Maya Angelou.

Capricorn Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your 1st House of Self Identity. Circumstances beyond your control will re-arrange themselves, shining a spotlight on your personal style and persona. Other people will act as a reflecting mirror, prompting you to think about questions such as: Does my style and approach to life reflect who I am now or is it a relic of childhood? How is it working or not working for me in my personal and professional relationships? Is how I see myself at odds with how others see me? Do I create win/lose or win/win relationships? With eliminator Pluto conjunct this eclipse in Capricorn, which habits or behaviours need to go?

Your tribe is your echo chamber, so choose carefully.

Aquarius Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in the deepest most hidden part of your chart. This is the engine room where your unconscious desires, drives and defence mechanisms live. With the God of Change Pluto as your guide in this otherworld, it’s time to begin to excavate your deepest longings. Key themes that emerge are the need to retreat, to develop your spiritual consciousness, to pay attention to your night time dreams, to understand that you have reached the end of a cycle and are shedding an old outgrown identity. Over the next 6 months to December’s eclipse, open, allow and soften so that the butterfly of a different future can emerge from the chrysalis in its own time.

Encountering completely unknown aspects of yourself.

Pisces Weekly Forecast: July 14-21, 2019
At Tuesday’s eclipse, your karmic chickens are coming home to roost in your angle of values, goals and priorities. So much of what you lived your life by up to now is being eliminated, deleted or shown to be irrelevant that it’s time to update your inner map. Are you still focusing on goals that you set years ago? Have the goalposts moved? Do you know what your core values are and are you living your life around them or just paying them lip service? Are you putting your most authentic self out there and standing behind your ideas and creations? Eclipses are cosmic wild cards that bring opportunities where there were none before-what are yours and will you seize them with both hands? This is all about seeing the world as an enormous web of connection and plugging yourself and your gifts into it.

 A creative re-birth.

Sacred Medicine: 21 Things About Healing They Didn’t Teach Me In Medical School ~ Lissa Rankin.

21 Things About Healing They Didn’t Teach Me In Medical School.

After seven years of research, I’m finally writing my long-awaited book Sacred Medicine, the third book in the trilogy, following up Mind Over Medicine and The Fear Cure. I know a lot of you are kind of waiting on pins and needles for this book, and I feel a little daunted by the responsibility of all the wisdom, experiences, blessings, insight, and knowledge I’ve been gifted as part of my research. I feel like I need to bring the same kind of rigor to this book that I’ve brought to the others, yet this subject is hard to be scientifically rigorous with, given the nature of consciousness and its relationship to healing.

Anyway, since the book is still at least a year or two away, I want to keep updating those of you who follow my blog as I synthesize what I’m learning, so let me share with you 21 things I’ve learned during this journey, which I’m unpacking slowly.
1.  Illness, injury, and trauma are an opportunity for awakening for those who are willing to approach their suffering as a gateway to transformation. Healing, transformation, trauma clearing, and spiritual awakening are entangled phenomena that cannot be separated, even though medicine, psychology, spirituality, and science would all like you to believe they can be. This integrated way of approaching a healing journey as a spiritual path is not for everyone, and that’s okay. Some people will continue to compartmentalize these disciplines, opening to science and medicine, for example, but choosing to keep psychology and spirituality out of their process. This is every individual’s right, to choose how you approach your own treatment. You cannot impose this way of healing on anyone else, but if you’re in need of healing, or if you’re in the healing arts, and if you’re willing to go down this rabbit hole, consider it an invitation to a deeper, richer, more meaningful, Whole Health life.
2.  The body is naturally equipped to heal itself, but chronic stress responses in the nervous system impair these self-healing mechanisms, causing our bodies to break down. These powerful stress responses, which bolster survival in a real emergency but which destroy the body if firing chronically, override the body’s ability to repair what breaks, allowing diseases like cancer, which would otherwise get cleared naturally, to take hold and flourish.
3.  Every aspect of your life (your relationships, your work, your creativity, your sexuality, your spirituality, your finances, your environment, your food, how you move your body, etc.) has the opportunity to be either poison or medicine. As I explain in great detail in Mind Over Medicine, Whole Health requires lifestyle modifications that transform what might be poison into what can be medicine. For example, your work can be poisonous to your health, or your work can be medicine as you fulfill your calling in a way that helps you heal. When we live authentically from the “juice” of our Inner Pilot Lights, our relationships, our work, our spirituality, our creativity, our sexuality, our relationship to money, our mental and physical health behaviors all convert what is potentially toxic into what is healing.
4.  Trauma is at the root of many illnesses. Some people have experienced the Big T traumas, the ones researchers call the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). But 100% of us have experienced what might seem like smaller traumas, such as the developmental traumas that interfere with our healthy individuation, capacity for intimacy, and natural full expression of our authentic selves. Such trauma, which Buddhist psychiatrist Mark Epstein, MD calls “the trauma of everyday life,” affects every one of us and impacts our health. Talk therapy is not enough to heal these wounds. Healing requires not just talking about traumatic events in our lives; it requires clearing those traumas from our energy systems (researchers like Shamini Jain, PhD call it “the biofield”), so life force can flow freely. This natural flow of life force can sometimes cure disease and prevent future disease or disability.
5.  Nutrition as medicine, exercise, getting enough sleep, and functional medicine approaches to health are essential building blocks of Whole Health, but they’re insufficient for optimal health outcomes. You can eat the world’s most pristine diet, work out every day, sleep nine hours per night, take 100 supplements, and get the best conventional medical treatment or functional/integrative medicine treatment in the world, but if there’s untreated trauma in your system, you’re unlikely to be permanently cured from a chronic or life-threatening illness.
6.  Many people who say they want to be cured unconsciously sabotage their healing. While their conscious minds genuinely want to stop suffering, parts of the unconscious mind does not want the illness to go away, and those unconscious parts interfere with healing. It’s like putting one foot on the gas and one foot on the brakes. Parts of you want to be cured and other parts of you, parts that think they’re protecting you, don’t want you to get well. For example, if you’re sick and getting a big fat disability check from a job you used to hate, some parts will want to keep the disability check and avoid going back to the soul-sucking job. Clearing these unconscious blocks is a necessary part of the healing process.
7.  You know what’s best for your body far better than any expert does.Expertise is awesome. We need our experts to offer what they offer in their respective medicine bags. But someone else’s expertise does not make them the expert of how your healing journey should go. If you tune into your Inner Pilot Light, you’ll be guided to what will help you heal. (Learn how to Connect To Your Inner Pilot Light so you can receive this guidance here.)
8.  Love heals. It’s a paradox. You can heal yourself; and you can’t do it alone. While the body is equipped to heal itself, most of us can’t do what healing asks of us in isolation. Even introverts like myself need safe, nurturing, non-judgmental, loving healers and a community of healing to hold us while we heal ourselves and each other.
9.  Circles are powerful. As Michael Lerner of Commonweal said, “If it touches the heart, if it helps guide us on our path, it’s a Healing Circle.” Circles eliminate pedestals. Circles have been used by indigenous people as a vehicle of healing for millennia. The very same people gathered together with the intention of healing have less impact when they’re sitting in rows or when one person is up on stage.
10.  Life force can be transfused when yours is weakened. Call it life force, call it chi, call it prana, call it energy, call it love or God or Shakti or the Holy Spirit. What you call it doesn’t matter. All of us have times in life when our life force wanes, and we need that life force to flow freely in order to be optimally healthy. While all living beings have life force flowing through them, when yours gets weak, you may need someone else whose life force is flowing with less impediment to boost yours until your own life force can move through you unimpeded.
11.  When you let life force flow through you so you can help heal others, you receive a healing yourself. When you become a channel for life force flowing through you, that which flows through you heals you as it moves in you. If you’re dialed into the Source of all life force, then this life force is infinite and unlimited and restorative. If you’re depleted after offering healing, you’re giving up your own life force rather than opening to the unlimited flow of life force that’s available to us all, and this can make you sick. But if you’re channeling the Source of all life force, you receive a healing through the act of healing.
12.  Optimal health requires the generation of your own life force. Although we can receive transfusions of life force from others and this may help us feel better temporarily, most of these kinds of transfusions aren’t permanent unless you heal and clear traumatic imprints or blocks in your own system so you can open to the flow of life force on your own, through your own connection to Source.
13.  Music, art, dancing, safe touch, emotional vulnerability, setting the intention for healing, prayer, and meditation all bond groups into powerful forces of healing. When these elements of group bonding come together, they seem to amplify the impact of each one, making each exponentially more powerful.
14.  The more bonded the group, the more powerful it can be as a force for healing.  Group bonding can arise as the result of singing and dancing together, undergoing initiatory rituals together, surviving a trauma together, healing trauma together, creating art together, experiencing strong emotions like love or ecstasy or grief or rage together, feeling safe to be emotionally and expressively authentic in a shared space, and engaging in spiritual practices together.
15.  If groups are strongly bonded, one person’s cure may increase the likelihood that another bonded group member is also cured. This concept of “resonant bonding” is currently being studied by researcher William Bengston, PhD, who theorizes that this may offer part of the explanation for the mystery of the placebo effect. In other words, if participants in a research study are in some way bonded, those who are cured by the treatment may lead to cures experienced by the control (placebo) group who do not get the treatment. The mechanism of action of how this works is still unknown, but Bill Bengston is hell bent on unraveling this mystery, so stay tuned.
16.  If groups are equally bonded, size seems to matters. The larger the group, the more powerful the healing effect seems to be. If a larger group means less bonding, however, this does not seem to be the case. The strength of the bonding appears to matter more than the size of the group, but if both groups are equally bonded, a larger group seems to result in more healing impact. This may explain why healing happen at sacred sites like Lourdes.
17.  What many people call “energy healing” may actually be the transmission of healing “information” riding on a wave of energy. This would explain why healing seems to work remotely and does not diminish across distance in the way we would expect energy to dissipate at a distance and be stronger when it’s close. Again, the mechanism for how this healing information seems to be transmitted is not understood by the scientists who are researching it. Some theorize that healing information is a kind of code, almost like computer code, that can be inserted into a buggy program in the body. Some healers suggest that the energy body (of which the physical body is a part) is designed with an ideal matrix based on sacred geometries and therefore insertion of healing information is like repairing a glitch in the blueprint of a healthy body.
18.  Healing requires a sanctuary. Because some aspects of healing can feel like getting cut open with a scalpel, we need to counterbalance the challenging parts of the deep work healing requires with the nurture, safety, comfort, and unconditional acceptance we all crave. This bolsters us and gives us courage so we can do what we must to heal what is ready to be healed. Some find this kind of sanctuary in nature. Others find it in sacred spaces where groups gather, as in traditional churches, temples, and holy sites. Still others find their sanctuary inside, where they can connect to their Inner Pilot Light in silent meditation and experience a deep peace and sense of wholeness, which is always within us, even when we feel broken.
19.  Pleasure, play, and laughter are good medicine. Healing work can be painful, as we face everything we have compartmentalized into trauma bubbles we typically don’t touch. As we gently and patiently penetrate these bubbles so healing can happen, we need to counterbalance the discomfort with play, pleasure, laughter, and deep nurturing experiences. As your tolerance for pain increases, your tolerance for pleasure needs to increase just as much. Many people have unconscious blocks against feeling good and receiving deliciously pleasurable experiences. Feeling the pain of being human needs to be counterbalanced with feeling all the pleasures of all the senses that only creatures with human bodies can experience. Otherwise, healing can quickly devolve into masochism- which, of course, is not healing.
20.  Healing is an interdisciplinary process. You can’t heal psychologically without having it impact the health of your body. You can’t heal medically without having it impact your psychological and spiritual well-being. You can’t heal spiritually without having it affect you psychologically and medically. Medicine, psychology, spirituality, and science are all linked and cannot be peeled apart, even by those who try to separate them. As much as we’d like to believe we can divide these categories into different academic disciplines that belong in different departments of universities, healing fails to play by such rules. All psychological healing leads to spiritual awakening and better physical health. All spiritual awakenings impact the psyche and the body. All “spontaneous remissions” impact you psychologically and spiritually (just ask people like Anita Moorjani or Eben Alexander). All biofield science that researches healing leads you down a rabbit hole that leads to quantum physics that leads to the science of consciousness, which leads to psychological, spiritual, and medical breakthroughs. Healing does not behave according to the principles of the Cartesian mind/body/spirit split. The etymology of the word “healing” comes from the Proto-Germanic word “khailaz,” which translates as “to make whole.” Healing is, almost by definition, a unifying phenomena that restores the academic splits into a reunion of integration.
21.  Healing should be a right, not a privilege, but we’re not there yet. Healing should not be a luxury good, only available for people who can afford to hire energy healers, trauma therapists, or shamans who don’t accept insurance. You shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars to attend healing retreats or fly across the world to see a healer in some far away country. But our culture has not yet caught up with the reality that anyone who is ready, willing, and courageous enough to embark upon a journey of healing should be able to access it. Right now, healing is a luxury that the people who need it the most cannot afford. We need a public health/ community health model that makes healing affordable for anyone willing to do the hard work of journeying through illness, injury, or trauma as a transformational spiritual path. Along with some of the healers I’ve researched for my Sacred Medicine book, I am actively engaged in a pilot program to try to address this need for a public health solution, but we’re not ready to scale it yet. If you have extra financial resources and you would like to contribute to our Inner Pilot Light scholarship fund in the interim in order to help fund healing work for those who cannot afford to pay for themselves, we would welcome your donations here.
If you’re in need of healing—here’s help:
I’ve developed many different resources to guide those who are in need of healing and those who tend to those in need of healing, depending on how deep you want to go and what you can afford.
  1. Join the Healing Soul Tribe—a community of people on a quest to heal from illness, injury, or trauma, we support one another as we work through the Whole Health Cairn from Mind Over Medicine together. Some in the group are training to be group leaders for in person Healing Soul Tribes, as described in m my vision here. Start your healing journey in loving community here.
  2. Attend the Mind Over Medicine workshop in Mill Valley June 20–23. Register here.
  3. Learn a Sacred Medicine trauma healing modality at a training I’m co-teaching with AIT founder Asha Clinton, PhD. Register here. This is best suited for therapists and doctors but you don’t have to be a doctor or therapist to attend.
  4. Enroll in one of my many online homestudy programs here.
  5. Apply for my Visionary Mentoring program here. Applications for 2019 are due July 15.
Now I’m back to writing my book, so stay tuned for more as I continue trying to hack healing.
Much love,

This is the Zero Point between July’s two wild card eclipses. Choose your trajectory carefully.
The Sun in Cancer is conjunct Sirius-the brightest Star in the sky- activating the sensitive trigger- happy midpoint of the July 2 and 16th eclipses, aligning with the Gods of Change -Saturn, the Node of Fate, Neptune and Pluto. Mars in fiery Leo is at odds with volatile Uranus and Mercury who is kicking up a dust storm by turning retrograde.

Expect drama in the outer world, but create neutrality in your inner world. Neutrality is not passive; it is a very present and empowered engagement with what is presenting in the Now. Be free in a world that is not yet free.
From Monday 8th- when both Mercury and Chiron turn backwards -all the outer threshold planets Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto are retrograde. This means a conscious deepening, a going within to become an intronaut exploring and updating your own terrain. The next 7 days in this eclipse tunnel before the doozy of the July 16th Lunar eclipse conjunct Pluto are a kaleidoscope of sacred geometry multiple 5D energy bridges, gateways and choice points. Watch for sudden sideways elevators tilting your daily reality so that you suddenly slip and slide into radically new physical, emotional and soulful territory. Your Body is taking You along for the Ride.
Sirius is a conduit for multidimensional downloads from the Cloud. You may begin to feel more like your True Self than ever before. Just take a step towards your new creations, holding open the space for yet more transformation at the approaching July 16th eclipse ……….

The Chandra Symbol for Chiron RX:

A woman with an aquamarine in her navel
“Sensuous pleasure, powerful passions. Body wisdom. Impulses and instincts, desires and cravings, and the festive celebration of being alive here now. You are totally enraptured with the senses–energetic, vital, enthusiastic, on fire. Direct and straight on. Candid and willing to release into what arises. Impressionable, suggestible, youthful. In touch and in tune with what wants to happen here, your gut conviction is fiercely strong. You feel driven to be yourself and by the need to engage with the other completely. You are the one who stands out, who makes a point of it, who is unashamed.”

Aries Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Midway between two potent eclipses on your axis of life direction, start to register then acclimatise to what is being evoked, awakened and re-patterned in you. Frame these rare eclipses not as one -off dramatic events but as catalysts for seeding the next growth step in your evolution to 2020.As shaman Chiron turns backwards in Aries, career and home are under renovation. By now, the nudges from the universe in the form of circumstances outside your control changing around you should be too obvious to ignore. This is enormously supportive, progressive astrology, tailormade to help you set up your own business or creative side-line, just as long as you trust your own instincts and do the groundwork.
Moving forward.

Taurus Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Ever since February when awakener Uranus returned to Taurus for the first time in 84 years, a strange sense of excitement and possibility has been building. Sudden insights, realisations and lightbulb moments are turning your focus away from the past towards creating a life that is handcrafted to match who you are now. With Mars aligned with Uranus and midway between two reality changing eclipses, ditch anything holding you back -limiting beliefs, toxic habits-ready to respond in the moment to unexpected opportunities. It’s time to become the creative agent you are and to act on the world instead of being acted upon.
Free your wild.

Gemini Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

On Sunday your personal planet Mercury slows to turn backwards in your zone of connection, signalling that it’s time to stop pushing ahead with goals and plans and to retreat to take stock and get up to date with yourself. This is the midpoint between two reality checking wild card eclipses and your finances and resources are under reconstruction. Your old ways of spending, saving and supporting yourself just aren’t cutting it anymore. Rather than thinking something’s wrong, let the blast of eclipse fresh air inspire you to find creative new ways to add to your income streams. Your choices may not be conventional but they will be authentic – that’s your mantra for 2019-2020.
A grace period.

Cancer Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

For you a Cancerian, events in July have a touch of fate or destiny about them. Two wild card eclipses across your sign-on July 2 and 16th– are throwing situations, relationships and your career up in the air and who knows where they’ll land. Knowing that this is out of your control is the first step to acknowledging that it’s time to look to a different future instead of clinging on to the past for security. Deep down, you know who and what is no longer in your highest interests and deep down you are feeling a pull towards the new, the exciting and the inspirational. Ask yourself“If everything is up for grabs and nothing is a given, what would I want to create in the world/for the world and how would I go about creating it?” Then let your answer set your agenda.
Opening the cage door.

Leo Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

This is not business as usual for you as a Leo. Usually the month before your birthday, when the Sun is in the most hidden part of your chart, is a time to withdraw, recharge your batteries and prepare for your personal New Year. Not so in 2019.Two potent eclipses on July 2 and 16th are shaking up your world and not allowing you any rest. This week Mars in your sign triggers first Mercury then volatile Uranus. Think fireworks, think explosions, think sudden unpredictable changes connected to your career and place in the world. Now’s the time to take a stand for what you’re worth, what you believe in and get out of any situation that is blocking your way. Draw your line in the sand then stick to it.
Be uncompromising but not confronting.

Virgo Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Changes are arriving thick and fast. If not to you then to people and situations around you which create a domino effect on your own life. We’re at the very sensitive midpoint between two reality changing eclipses and to up the intensity, Mars is at odds with volatile Uranus and your personal planet Mercury is turning backwards, creating a trickster storm of disinformation. Refuse to take any of it personally and cut both yourself and others lots of slack. Focus on spotting new opportunities as they suddenly arise and don’t let them go by. Frame the next week before July 16th’s doozy of a plutonic eclipse as sowing the seeds of freedom and an escape ladder from the rut of your long out grown comfort zone.
Flickers of the new on the horizon.

Libra Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Just like Cancer, for you events in July have a definite touch of fate or destiny about them. Two reality changing wild card eclipses are activating your axis of life direction and whatever you set in motion back in January is coming home to roost. This week, the Sun at the pinnacle of your chart aligns with Saturn, Pluto and Neptune and a situation will reach the end of the road. Whether it comes from circumstances re-arranging themselves outside your control or whether you initiate it, a break from the past is long overdue. Frame whatever happens as a rare opportunity to set yourself on a new track – one that is handcrafted and more authentic. In essence, this is your chance to get current with who you are now and update your thinking.
Change is the one constant.

Scorpio Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

For you as a Scorpio, this is a rare and welcome opportunity to make a move you’ve long been planning. Both your personal planets Mars and Pluto are highly charged and at odds with Uranus, the Sun and the Node of Fate. Adding to the intensity, this is the hyper sensitive midpoint of July’s two potent eclipses- one on July 2nd and the other on July 6th.Anything can happen and probably will. Loosen up your plans and your schedule ready to seize the opportunities as they arise. Even better if you can take a trip to somewhere unfamiliar to get a 360 degree perspective on what needs to go and what is your heart’s desire. Do your own thing and ignore others trying to create dramas. Your own highest interests are paramount now.
Focus, determination and singlemindedness.

Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

This is definitely not the time to sit back and smell the roses, lovely as that would be. We are in the seismic storm window right between two potent wild card eclipses and everything is up in the air and up for grabs. For you, your finances are forefront and centre. Your foundations and security need reinforcing and making fire-proof or watertight. You are on a fast track to a future defined on your own terms and you need to use all your inner resources and resilience to keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t let anything or anyone distract you and make sure that those close to you are on the same page when it comes to money matters.
 Focus like a laser.

Capricorn Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Without exaggeration, July is a make or break period for you a Capricorn. Two reality changing wild card eclipses across your own sign and your relationship zone -July 2nd and July 16th-activate both Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. These are relentless change agents, eliminating and scouring away aspects of your life that are outgrown. Although painful at the time as events slip out of your control, such losses are clearing the way for green shoots of new growth. So rather than clinging to the river bank, let the current take you downstream. Lost in translation somewhere between the old order and the new chaos, ask yourself “what is my unique invitation to renewal and innovation?”.
When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills. Chinese proverb

Aquarius Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

For you as an Aquarian, this is a time of creativity, inspiration and insights that have the potential to change your world around. Both Mars and Mercury are now in your opposite sign of fiery Leo giving you the momentum and drive to follow the beat of your own drum. As Mars aligns with awakener Uranus at the roots of your chart, new people, interesting conversations and opportunities suddenly arrive. Instead of sticking to the tried and tested -for which read staying in your comfort zone- take the road less travelled and surprise yourself with a magical mystery tour.
The owner’s manual you were given at birth is now an historical artefact.

Pisces Weekly Forecast: July 7-14, 2019

Happily for you, in what is shaping up to be an intense week, most of the action is in Cancer, a Water sign highly compatible with Pisces. All around you, the stakes are high as Mars triggers volatile Uranus, while the Sun aspects heavy hitters Saturn and Pluto right on the midpoint of two wild card eclipses. There is so much planetary support in your angle of creativity, so while it’s a good idea to be alert for red flags, focus all your attention and instincts on birthing new projects and launching something that’s close to your heart into the world. Ask yourself:” If I were brave, what might I do differently on a daily basis? If I were to consistently put my own highest interests first, what would I do differently right Now?”
Live it. Own it. Mean it.

6 Life-Changing Breathing Techniques ~ Hilde Larsen

6 Life-Changing Breathing Techniques.

By Hilde Larsen

Contributing writer for Wake Up World.

July 5th, 2019.

.

Changing how you breathe can foster the self-healing powers of your body.
“Are you a shallow breather also? There are a few obvious ways that you can tell, so get to it and find out. Lie down and put one hand on your chest and the other one on your abdomen. Breathe like you usually do and watch your hands. Breathe normally. If the hand on your chest raises first, you are a shallow-breather, of the one on your abdomen raises first, you are a deep-breather.
By spending time alone with our breathing, we will start to experience ourselves as more than this physical body. It is the simple way to start any meditation practice, to simply be aware of the breath. Once we become a part of our breath, or breathing, the mind loses its grip, and stillness can come forth.

This way, even the subconscious mind will start to dissolve its thought patterns. This in itself is a major key to why conscious breathing is healing on all levels. The breathing might open a flow of emotions and feelings, as you are able to really connect with them. Keep breathing and know that it is all good. It is all as it should be, you, your breathing, your healing and your future life.”

Continue to read the How Your Breathing Can Heal article here.
I am a great believer in diligence and persistence, and a follower of discipline as a great tool for manifesting growth and awareness. A consistent practice will give you real results, and by learning these breathing practices and implementing them on a daily basis, you will build muscle and find the ones you like the best.
Here is a list of what you will need:
  1. The space for your breathing practice. A quiet room with a matress or a bed.
  2. A mind that is quiet and rested. Get your calendar all situated and your diet in place.
  3. Make sure those around you, if you do not live alone, honor your space this week.
  4. 30 minutes of designated time.
  5. Find a breathing outfit that is light in color. Preferably white, and very comfortable. Natural fabrics like cotton, silk and linen is best.
Complementary focus:
  1. Reduce your stress level. I recommend making it a top priority.
  2. Zero focus on you having a body that is anything but healthy and beautiful.
  3. Absolutely no task or appointments that makes you uncomfortable. This is about allowing the breath of your future health.
  4. Be mindful of your breath during the day.
“Breathing deep supplies more oxygen to all our body parts including our digestive system, thus making it work more efficiently. The increased blood flow due to deep breathing also encourages intestinal action which further improves your overall digestion. In addition, deep breathing results in a calmer nervous system, which in turn also enhances optimal digestion.”

#1 This is referred to as the Lion`s Breath (Simha Pranayama):

Lion`s Breath is a powerful breath in the upper chest and throat. It cleanses out toxins, and is good for the throat chakra, and the thyroid.
Lion’s breath is performed by starting in simhasana then lowering the jaw to open the mouth wide, stretching the tongue out and curling it down. The gaze is toward the sky. The muscles at the front of the throat contract and a forceful exhalation is made with a roaring “haaaa” sound, feeling the air pass over the back of the throat. This can be repeated two or three times.
Lion’s breath is said to provide an ideal outlet for negative energy. The powerful exhalation and the engagement of the arms and shoulders are a manifestation of the release of negative energy from inside. It is said that many problems are a result of anger and resentment held inside and lion’s breath, with simhasana, releases that energy. It is important that the exhalation is strong and full of intention, not half-hearted, in order to experience the full benefits.
Lion’s breath stimulates the manipura chakra, and may also improve self-esteem and feelings of empowerment.
  • Extend the tongue out to touch the chin.
  • Breathe powerfully, forcing the breath over the root of the tongue, without any rasping.

Benefits of Lion`s breath or Simha Pranayama:

  • Lions Breath is beneficial in relieving tension occurring in the jaws because of teeth grinding and jaw clenching.
  • It prevents the throat from drooping with age as Simha Pranayama/Lion’s Breath stimulates platysma which is a thin and broad muscle. This muscle is responsible for pulling the corners of the mouth and for drooping of throat.
  • Another benefit of Lions Breath is that it promotes good posture and apparently increases confidence level.
  • With Simha Pranayama or Lions Breath, the tongue is stretched and subsequently the blood circulation is increased to throat and tongue.
  • It improves your vocal tone.
  • Lions Breath is beneficial in releasing the tension accumulated in neck and chest.
  • It helps relieve the anger and frustration and promote healthy living.
  • Simha Pranayama is also said to treat menstrual problems in women.
  • Simha Pranayama or improves digestion and helps relieve Reproductive problems.
Learn how to practice Lion`s breath here.

#2 This is referred to as Sitali Pranayama:

Sitali Pranayam is known to have a powerful relaxing effect on the body, while maintaining alertness. It is known to lower fevers, and aid digestion.
Sitali pranayama is a yogic breathing exercise that is designed to both calm the mind and cool the body. The term comes from the Sanskrit, sitali, meaning “cooling” or “soothing”; prana, meaning “life force”; and ayama, meaning “extension.” To practice sitali pranayama, the tongue is rolled and then the breath is drawn in through the tongue as if through a straw.
Sitali pranayama differs from many other types of pranayama that are intended to warm the body.
  • Curl the tongue into a ‘U” shape.
  • Inhale through the curled tongue.
  • Exhale through the nose. This breath is also used with Breath of Fire and with Segmented Breaths in some kriyas.
  • You may notice the tongue tasting bitter at first. This is a sign of detoxification and will pass.
Variation:
Inhale and exhale through the curled tongue.

Benefits of Sitali Pranayam:

  • Regulates digestive + sexual energy
  • Relaxes the body + mind
  • Cools anger + fever
  • Detoxifies
  • Brings concentration + clarity + calm
Your tongue may taste bitter at first — a sign of detoxification and purification. This is good! As you continue to practice, your tongue will become sweet.
The shifts you’ll feel after practicing Sitali Pranayam are profound, like stepping out of an old you and into a new, clear, purified self.
Learn how to practice the Sitali Pranayam here.

#3 This is referred to as Bhastrika or Bellows breath:

Yoga offers a variety of techniques for fanning the fire, all focusing on the navel center. One of the most straightforward is a breathing practice called bhastrika, or bellows breathing.
This vigorous pranayama involves a rapid series of active inhalations and exhalations. Just as a bellows draws in air and pushes it across glowing coals to generate heat, bhastrika uses the action of the abdominal muscles and diaphragm to draw air in and out of the lungs, generating heat in the body by squeezing blood through the digestive organs, toning the liver, spleen, stomach, and pancreas, and increasing digestive capacity. It can also keep winter colds at bay by clearing the nasal passages, sinuses, and lungs.
  • Sit in a steady, comfortable posture with the spine straight.
  • Take a few deep, even diaphragmatic breaths through the nostrils. When you’re ready to begin, exhale by contracting the abdominal muscles quickly and forcefully, followed immediately with a quick diaphragmatic inhalation of equal force, letting the abdominal muscles relax completely.
  • The challenge here is to coordinate the action of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles so the air moves in and out of the lungs quickly: as the abdominal muscles relax at the end of an exhalation, the diaphragm actively contracts to begin the inhalation; as the diaphragm begins to release its contraction after the peak of inhalation, the abdominal muscles immediately contract. It will take time and attention to coordinate these movements.
  • Both the exhalation and the inhalation will be audible through the nostrils; the goal is to make them equal in both duration and force.
Bhastrika should be practiced only on an empty stomach. Early morning is ideal; before lunch and/or late afternoon are good times, too.
Doing this invigorating practice at bedtime can cause insomnia.
Start slow:
At first, limit yourself to 7–11 breaths, or repetitions. Then pause and rest with a slow, deep diaphragmatic breath. This constitutes one round. Do 1–3 rounds daily, gradually increasing the number of breaths per round by 5 each week. Aim for one inhale/exhale per second.
Over time, you can work your way up to 3 rounds per session and 3 sessions per day, increasing the vigor and speed of practice up to 2 breaths per second. You can also continue to increase the number of repetitions within each round by 5 each week. Always stay within your comfortable capacity.

Benefits of Bhastrika or Bellows breath:

  • This is the best breathing exercise for lungs. It makes the lungs healthy and improves strength. It directly affects all respiratory system of body and cures all lungs related problems.
  • Very helpful for cold, flu, sinus and asthma.
  • Thyroid, tonsils and all throat problems are helped.
  • It is very helpful to cure all heart diseases like angina, arteries blockages, etc .
  • Highly recommended for Brain symptoms like Depression, Migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, Paralysis, etc.
  • Helps to remove impurities of blood. Vata (wind/spirit/air), pitta (bile) and kapha (phlegm) are balanced so as to make body healthy.
  • Good for concentration of mind that helps for kundalini jagran.
Learn how to practice Bhastrika or Bellows breath here.
Note! Avoid Bhastrika if you have an ulcer, hiatal hernia, chronic constipation, heart disease, high blood pressure, or moderate to severe nasal congestion. Avoid this pranayama during menstruation and pregnancy.

#4 This is referred to as Ocean`s breath or Ujjayi Pranayama:

This is a great calming practice that you can use if you feel angry, frustrated or irritated. It will calm the mind and settle the whole body.
  • Take an inhalation that is slightly deeper than normal. Keep your mouth closed, and exhale through your nose. We always use our nostrils in pranayama. Try to imagine that you are breathing out as if you were fogging a mirror. That is the type of air you want to come out. Like the sound of the ocean.
  • Try to constrict your throat on the inhale as well.
Practice the inflow breath first, and then slowly use the same technique on outflow. Gently constrict your throat on your outflow.

Benefits of Ocean`s breath:

  • Improves concentration.
  • Instills endurance that enhances a flowing practice by lending a meditative quality that maintains the rhythm of the class.
  • It diminishes distractions and allows the practitioner to remain self-aware and grounded in the practice.
  • Ujjayi breath regulates heating of the body. The friction of the air passing through the lungs and throat generates internal body heat. It is similar to a massage for the internal organs; as the core becomes warm from the inside, the body becomes prepared for the asana practice. This heat makes stretching safer while the inner organs can be cleansed of any toxins that have accumulated.
  • A focused Ujjayi breath can release tension and tight areas of the body.
  • Additional benefits of Ujjayi pranayama include diminished pain from headaches, relief of sinus pressure, decrease in phlegm, and strengthening of the nervous and digestive systems.
Learn how to practice Ocean`S breath or Ujjayi here.

#5 This is referred to as Bhramari Pranayama:

Bhramari pranayama is very effective in instantly calming your mind down. It is one of the best breathing exercises to release the mind of agitation, frustration or anxiety and get rid of anger. A simple-to-do technique, can be practiced anywhere at work or home, and an instant option available to de-stress yourself.
This breathing technique derives its name from the black Indian bee called Bhramari. (Bhramari = type of Indian bee; pranayama = breathing technique)
The exhalation in this pranayama resembles the typical humming sound of a bee, which explains why it is named so.
  • Sit up straight in a quiet, well ventilated corner with your eyes closed. Keep a gentle smile on your face.
  • Place your index fingers on your ears. There is a cartilage between your cheek and ear. Place your index fingers on the cartilage.
  • Take a deep breath in and as you breathe out, gently press the cartilage. You can keep the cartilage pressed or press it in and out with your fingers, while making a loud humming sound like a bee.
  • You can also make a low-pitched sound but it is a good idea to make a high-pitched one for better results.
Breathe in again and continue the same pattern for 6-7 times.
Keep your eyes closed for some time. Observe the sensations in the body and the quietness within. You can also practice Bhramari pranayama lying on your back or lying on your right. While practicing the pranayama while lying down, just make the humming sound and do not worry about keeping your index finger on the ear. You can practice the Bee pranayama 3-4 times every day.

Benefits of Bhramari Pranayama (Bee Breath):

  • Calms and quiets the mind
  • Releases cerebral tension
  • Stimulates the pineal and pituitary glands, supporting their proper functioning
  • Soothes the nerves
  • Relieves stress and anxiety
  • Dissipates anger
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Bolsters the health of the throat
  • Strengthens and improves the voice
  • Supports the healing of bodily tissues
  • Induces sound sleep
You can learn how to do Bhramari Pranayama here.
Bhramari (as with most pranayamas) is best practiced on an empty stomach. While it can be practiced at any time of day, bhramari is particularly potent in the early morning and late at night- when there are fewer distracting noises and our inner perception is most acute.

#6 Breath of fire or Kapalabhati Pranayama:

Breath of Fire is without a doubt the most sophisticated Pranayama (breath control). It is an amazing tool that fights against anxiety, nerves, fears, pain, and depression.
Yogi Bhajan said that a person has been granted a predetermined number of breaths from birth till his death, and breath of fire is ONE (from the moment you start until you end). This means that you can prolong your life span by doing Breath of Fire!
The Pranayama practitioners say the way we feel is directly related to the way we breathe. When dealing with challenging or stressful life situations, our body has an unconscious tendency to pull the diaphragm in. This is the area of the Solar Plexus, where the body keeps all of its emotions.
Kapalabhati helps to make the motions of your diaphragm very easy and controlled. This helps it to discard the muscle cramps present in bronchial tubes. A lot of force is used to do this pranayama. While exhaling, the process is very strong and while inhaling, the process is very calming. It is a very energizing technique, and when done correctly it will reboot all your muscles. It is also a cleansing technique that places emphasis on cleaning the air passages and blockages in the chest.
“There are seventy-two thousand nerves in our body. Out of the entire seventy-two thousand , seventy-two are the most important. Out of these seventy-two, ten are vital. In India, they say that if the third Chakra (one of the focal points where all the seventy-two thousand nerves meet), is not in balance, a person cannot be healthy no matter how much medicine he is taking. A way to balance this out is by doing Breath of Fire in “stretch pose“. “
This is a wonderful breathing technique to help the mind and soul, as it helps to awaken the spiritual power which heals many problems facing many of us today.
  • Breathe in and out through the nose (or mouth).
  • Pull the abdomen in towards the diaphragm during the exhalation and out during inhalation.
  • This is very fast, as fast as 2 or 3 times per second, and also very loud.
  • The people next to you should be able to hear you.
  • When perfected, the rate should be 120 to 180 times per minute!!
“You can build up from there to forty-five second periods for two or three minutes. Soon you will be able to do this for long periods of time without stopping or feeling discomfort.”
Benefits of Breath of Fire:
  • Cleanse yourself of toxic air. Kapalabhati clears the body from the constant intake of toxins, thus detoxifying it. This technique helps to replace any toxic air with fresh air.
  • Breathing in this way lightens your skull by extracting problems like sinusitis. This is an invigorating and energizing practice as it fills your stuffy skull with fresh air.
  • The practice also improves bowel movements which rids the body of the many diseases.
  • Excellent for Respiratory Problems
  • It is also one of the best exercises for asthma patients and people suffering from respiratory problems.
  • This stimulating breath can do wonders for every single tissue in your body.
  • The breathing technique will invigorate your spine.
  • Increases Blood Circulation
  • It is also useful for maintaining blood pressure.
  • The abdominal organs also become strengthened from the pressure applied to these organs while breathing and exhaling.
  • It increases the blood circulation due to fresh supply of blood. It is also useful for removing impurities from the blood.
  • The abdominal area is toned with the help of this breathing technique. It helps clear the entire nervous system which proves to be very useful in making the body fit.
  • Helps with Decision Making
  • A sense of calmness is also achieved due to the lightness of the skull. Kapalabhati helps one to think better and make decisions quickly while also keeping the mind alert.
Learn how to practice the breath of fire here.
Kapalabhati Pranayama is not recommended for those who suffer from cardiac problems, hernia and spinal disorders. In addition, those who suffer from severe respiratory infections, colds and nasal obstruction should not perform this breathing and cleansing technique. Most physicians usually ask people suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes to refrain from performing this breathing technique. Those with abdominal ulcers should also avoid performing the technique. If you are pregnant, you should not practice this type of breathing exercise.

The Spirituality of Being Vegan – A Personal Sharing ~ Anastasia

The Spirituality of Being Vegan.

Spirituality to me is a celebration of my love for sentient life. It’s an honouring of the interconnectivity of all things. More than that – it’s feeling the interconnectivity at the core of my being. It’s compassion. It’s love. It’s non-judgment. It’s a mystical, intangible life force that always inspires me to make the most loving and compassionate choice available. Spirituality ignites my soul, allowing me to dance, open my heart, free my mind and serve my life’s purpose.

My heart guides constantly guides me to take the most loving and compassionate path in life, which also means that I embrace a vegan lifestyle (and have done so for over 24 years).

All For One And One For All

Not only is eating a plant-based diet good for the planet, our fellow animals, it also raises my vibration positively, so that I, in turn, can infuse a little bit more of the divine back into the world around me. It creates an awesome feedback loop, important for my spiritual evolution.
What is good for other sentient life, is good for me. Making compassionate choices works somewhat like a key to unlock a higher paradigm of unconditional love within me. It is a key on my journey back to whole and complete spiritual beingness.

A Profound Spiritual Awakening

In 1995 I had a profound, earth-shattering, spiritual awakening that changed my life forever.
I don’t know why it happened to me – perhaps just because my ‘time had come’. I’d been tormented by the relentless yearning to find meaning in a cruel world. As a very sensitive person witnessing and feeling the degradation of our planet and fellow sentient beings, I felt an intolerable pain; a primal scream. I wanted to die. I’d reached the bottom of the well of grief and it was barren, dry and empty. My world finally caved in. I wanted to give every cell of my being back to the universe. Everything I’d ever loved, dreamed of, hoped for ‘take it back – take me back – I want out’.
I finally gave up the fight and surrendered every cell of my being into the divine. I collapsed, unable to feel anything anymore. And then it happened!
Something extraordinary and unexpected took place…
A white light flooded my entire being, dissolving everything around me, consuming me entirely, radiating the whole field around me, until their was only white light. The universe disappeared. There was no me or you. No up or down. No this or that. The veil had fallen away and all that was left was one pulsating white light of pure unity consciousness. It formed everything, lacked nothing, whilst exuding a paradoxical formlessness. I was that, that was me and so was everything else! I experienced the soul of all other sentient beings, trees, creatures, people, all forms of life, all connected as one pulsating energy. All judgement fell away. Beyond words.
After an experience like that, everything changes! Everything was different. There were no boundaries; just an interconnectedness of all things. No concepts, no intellectual interpretation. I realised my place in the sacred flow of life. We’re all one, all connected.
Immediately after my spiritual awakening, I made instant changes to my lifestyle (including adopting a vegan diet). It became clear to me that a compassionate, plant-based way of eating was not only best for my fellow sentient beings and for Mother Earth, but also for my personal spiritual evolution.

Interconnectivity

Spiritually, we know that all are connected. We sense it, through every cell of our being. We can feel it in the depths of our hearts. It’s a whisper, inviting us to unfold into the fullness of our being, calling us ‘home’. There is a thread that joins us all together… plants, people, animals, and all sentient life. When we tug at that thread, we find that everything is connected.
What we do to another, we ultimately do to ourselves. At our deepest levels there is a yearning to become whole again and to honour all other sentient beings.

The Awakening Soul

Once our soul begins to awaken, we know in our hearts that all beings are worthy of love and compassion.
True love awaits within each of us, often dormant until stirred, like a hibernating seed, unaware, yet ever yearning for the moment to be set free.

Everything Is Energy

“A human being is a part of the whole, called by us “Universe,”
a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings
as something separated from the rest,
a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us,
restricting us to our personal desires and
to affection for a few persons nearest to us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison
by widening our circle of compassion to embrace
all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
Spiritually we understand that everything is made of energy.  In fact these days, even science confirms it. Everything consists of a particular vibration. Without vibrational energy, nothing would exist at all. Nothing escapes us. The choices we make in life alter our vibration accordingly, creating karma that either binds us to the density or sets us free.

You Are What You Eat

What we eat infuses into the cells of our body, which then affects our energetic vibration (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually).
Eating plant-based food that has been grown naturally with care, nourishes our mind, body and spirit, raising our vibration. For a plethora of delicious plant-based recipes (created from a space of love) please go to my page here: Plant-based Recipes at Kind Earth
However, if we ingest animals (or their products) that have been in a state of pain or suffering in any way, we invite that vibration of turmoil into ourselves. That suffering literally becomes a part of us.

We’ve Lost Our Tribe!

So we know everything is connected…. yet, we’ve become indoctrinated (since the earliest of times) to believe that we are separate from one another. We’ve become fragmented and torn. Broken and disconnected. We’ve lost our tribe!
The illusion of separation has its grip so tightly on the ego that it fights vehemently for its own survival. The ego doesn’t want us to embrace our deepest compassion; for true compassion is about oneness and interconnectivity. True compassion means the death of the ego. Humanity has become destructive, causing great devastation and suffering for sentient life. The violence that is committed towards animals, has however, mostly been sanitised – carried out behind closed doors, protecting us from the blood-shed and horror.
How easy it is to deny responsibility when we don’t have blood on our own hands. Most of us stand behind a veil, believing that we are compassionate and loving beings, because we don’t inflict the torture ourselves. Or do we? We make that choice, consuming flesh and produce from our our fellow sentient beings, calling it food, distanced from the fact, that we are indeed responsible for the brutal deaths of billions of our friends every year. We know this in our hearts. Yet how many of us choose to ignore it?

Be Completely Honest With Yourself And Then Find Peace Within

Whether we consume animals and their by-products isn’t the issue. I am not telling anyone what they should or shouldn’t do. The issue is whether we’ve truly explored it. Whether we’ve really looked at what is going on. Whether we’ve truly owned our choices.
Watch a movie like Earthlings. Join the dots and be completely honest about how you feel. The important thing is that you make your choices from the heart. Don’t stay anaesthetised to what is really going on – make a conscious choice from your heart. True love is honest, transparent and takes full ownership of responsibility. If you can honestly feel the fear and embrace the suffering that your fellow creatures feel, with every fibre of your being… and still eat them (or their by-products), then you’ve made your choice. Be at peace with it.

The Spiritual Gift of Eating Compassionately

For me being vegan is about making the best choices I can, to honour the light within me, that is connected with the light within you… and all other sentient life. My spiritual journey would be incomplete without honouring my pull towards unity and oneness.
Eating compassionately is a spiritual gift. It not only raises our vibration, but it sends ripples of the deepest love out into our world. It connects us all.

Why I went vegan?

I created a video a while back to talk a little more about exactly why I went vegan all those years ago…

From supporting a healthy libido to building muscle mass, testosterone is an important hormone that has a massive influence on men’s health. Testosterone levels (sometimes called T levels) decline with age.
The effects of “low-T” are cumulative, meaning the lower they go, the more you feel the symptoms. Many men say that the more their testosterone levels decline, the older they feel. Want to know how to increase testosterone? Read on!

Although some men seek out anti-aging clinics and testosterone therapy, there’s actually an array of strategies — from exercise and diet to vitamins, minerals, and hormone-boosting herbs — that can support healthy testosterone levels naturally. You can even eat certain foods that increase testosterone as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Here, we’ll describe and compare some of the lifestyle-oriented initiatives that men can take to encourage a healthy balance of this important hormone.

What Does Testosterone Do?

An anabolic steroid, testosterone is the primary male hormone. Though testosterone levels are substantially higher in men, women produce a small amount of the hormone as well.
In men, the testes produce most of your testosterone. In women, the ovaries produce testosterone. The adrenal gland produces some testosterone in both sexes.
In addition to enhancing sex drive in both men and women, testosterone plays a key role in the growth and repair of reproductive tissues.
In men, the hormone also promotes masculine or male characteristics during puberty and throughout life, such as a deep voice, body and facial hair growth, increased muscle growth, and greater bone mass.
Testosterone also helps the body produce red blood cells and sperm and plays a supporting role in the overall health of your body. Last but not least, low levels of testosterone may contribute to belly fat.

Natural Ways to Increase Testosterone

Using pharmaceuticals to enhance testosterone, such as injections, patches, and topical gels, may bring dangerous side effects.
It also is not necessary, since many natural methods — including exercise, diet modification, stress reduction, and supplements to increase testosterone — work quite well! Below are some of the best tried-and-true natural solutions to increasing testosterone, no matter your age.

Go to the Gym

Getting regular physical activity is a great way to boost your testosterone. Studies show that men who are physically active produce more testosterone than men who aren’t — perhaps because exercise sends your body the message that it needs stronger muscles and bones.[1]
The best workouts for increasing testosterone are weight lifting and high-intensity interval training — sometimes called HIIT.
Resistance training with weights is an excellent way to increase testosterone, as is high-intensity interval training (HIIT).[2] Leg workouts may even be particularly effective at testosterone-boosting.
Being overweight leads to lower testosterone levels, but even obese individuals can offset the hormone’s loss with increased physical activity.[3]

Get Quality Sleep

Science shows that lack of sleep impacts testosterone production.
Be sure to get enough shut-eye, because sleep deprivation can affect your testosterone levels. Several studies found that insufficient sleep correlates with lower testosterone in the blood.[4, 5]
While everyone is different and recommended sleep times can vary, aim for at least seven to nine hours of zzz’s nightly. If you’re having trouble sleeping, check out our article on how to get more sleep.

Lose Weight

A higher weight usually means lower testosterone levels.
It’s a fact that being obese or overweight corresponds with low-T levels. Not only do obese men tend to have lower testosterone, but low testosterone affects metabolism and may hinder fat loss.[6, 7]
In other words, it’s a two-way street. If you are overweight with low-T levels, come up with a weight loss and calorie plan.
Try adopting a vegetarian or vegan plant-based diet while maintaining good nutrition and healthy levels of protein and fat. You can even incorporate weight loss supplements into your diet.

Eat Testosterone-Boosting Foods

Eating plenty of whole-food macronutrients — protein, carbohydrates, and fats — can help you maintain healthy testosterone levels.
In one study, hospital patients with depleted protein and fat reserves had lower total testosterone.[8]Another study found that, while testosterone levels rise during exercise, eating carbohydrates helps to maintain high levels during rest periods as well.[9]
Make sure you eat healthy carbs, like those in organic fruit and vegetables, and plant-based proteins, like legumes, nuts, and gluten-free protein-rich grains like quinoa, rather than processed, sugar-heavy foods.
Did you know that red meat can lower your sex hormones and sperm count?
Avoid meat! One study reported that men who ate processed red meat had a lower sperm count than men who did not eat processed red meat.[10]
Also, be sure to add healthy fats to your diet. Avocados, nuts, and seeds are all great sources. Swapping out saturated fats (such as butter) for monounsaturated healthy fats such as olive oil can support testosterone production.[11] Exceptions exist, such as coconut oil, which has different effects on metabolism than other saturated fats.[12]

Take Herbs, Vitamins, and Minerals

A deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals could be a culprit in low testosterone. Be sure that you get enough vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium in particular. Also, try herbs such as fenugreek and ashwagandha, which may act as natural testosterone boosters.

Vitamin D3

Studies associate vitamin D deficiency with low-T and suggest that supplementation can support normal testosterone levels.[13]
The exact relationship of vitamin D levels and testosterone is complex as vitamin D is believed to be involved with the synthesis of the testosterone hormone, not the direct production. Other ways to raise vitamin D levels include getting enough sunshine and eating foods rich in vitamin D.

Zinc

An essential dietary mineral, zinc also affects testosterone levels. Zinc deficiency can lead to low-T and zinc supplementation can support normal levels of the hormone. In one study, a supplement of 30 mg of zinc per day helped raise testosterone in zinc-deficient men.[14]

Magnesium

It turns out that low magnesium levels also correlate with low-T in men. As a result, taking magnesium appears to boost testosterone.[15]
Both athletes and sedentary men who supplemented with 10 mg of magnesium per kilogram of body weight (e.g., 680 mg daily for a man weighing 68 kg, or 150 pounds) increased their testosterone levels — although the effect was greater for the men who also exercised.[16]
Be sure to eat plenty of avocados, bananas, spinach, legumes, nuts, and seeds — all good sources of dietary magnesium.

Fenugreek

A medicinal herb in traditional Asian medicine, fenugreek may help to boost testosterone levels. In one study, a daily supplement of 500 mg of fenugreek boosted testosterone in men who also engaged in resistance training.[17] Another study found that men who took 600 mg of fenugreek daily reported a boost in libido and sexual function.[18] You can find fenugreek in the spice aisle, or take it as a supplement.

Ashwagandha

Healthcare providers who are trained in the traditional Indian medicine known as Ayurveda may recommend the herb ashwagandha for male sexual dysfunction and infertility.
In one review of the science, men using ashwagandha root extract had a 17 percent increase in testosterone levels after 90 days, compared with the placebo group.[19]

Tribulus

Another herb that’s popular in traditional Asian medicine, Tribulus terrestris enjoys a reputation as a natural aphrodisiac that can support healthy sex drive and optimal testosterone levels.
Tribulus supplementation showed a 16 percent increase in testosterone levels. One study found an improvement in sexual health symptoms after 60 days of taking tribulus, including a jump in testosterone levels.[20]

DHEA

A hormone produced in the adrenal glands, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is also available as a supplement made from wild yam. DHEA plays a role in the formation of both testosterone and estrogen, functioning as a precursor to both hormones in the body.
Some men take DHEA to boost T levels and improve sexual function and athletic performance.[21, 22]

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids may support healthy blood levels of testosterone. Omega-3s also led to higher serum testosterone.[23]
The researchers found that EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) — an omega-3 fatty acid — played an important role in testosterone metabolism. The healthiest option is a plant-based omega-3 supplement made from microalgae oil.

D-Aspartic Acid

A natural amino acid that is available in supplement form, D-aspartic acid plays a role in the production and release of testosterone in the body.
In one small study, men given a daily dose of D-aspartic acid for 12 days had increased testosterone production.[24]

Reduce Your Stress Levels

Stress has harmful effects on every aspect of your health, including reproductive health. Released during stress, the “stress hormone” cortisol can impede testosterone, blocking its effect in the body.[25]
Even in women, stress can effectively lower testosterone levels, as evidenced in a study of female students anticipating an important exam.[26]
Try reducing stress by incorporating meditationdeep breathing exercises, taking relaxing walks, listening to music, and even dancing. For more ideas, check out our article on how to manage your stress.

Cut Out Alcohol

Several studies link higher alcohol consumption with lower testosterone levels.[27] Even moderate alcohol, consumed regularly, can impact your production of the hormone.
Beer contains hops, a phytoestrogen (a plant form of estrogen). It’s also packaged in aluminum cans with plastic liners, both of which can affect hormone levels.[28] In one study, blood testosterone decreased by 6.8 percent in men who drank beer with dinner during two successive periods of three weeks.[29] If you’re concerned about low-T it may be time to give up beer, and other alcohol as well.

Avoid Endocrine-Disrupting Hormones

It’s no secret that human-created chemicals permeate the world, from the BPA in canned food to pesticide residue on your produce. Some of these chemicals are xenoestrogens — compounds that mimic estrogen — which can impede the production of testosterone in the body.
One study linked prenatal and childhood exposure to BPA and phthalates with lower testosterone levels in adolescence.[30] To avoid these chemicals, eat organic and read the labels on your household and cosmetic products.

Signs and Causes of Low Testosterone

When testosterone drops below the normal range, you may notice changes including:
  • Low sex drive
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Low energy
  • Increased body fat
  • Reduced muscle mass
  • Reduced bone mass
  • Mood changes such as depression or irritability
  • Reduced body or facial hair
In addition to normal aging, causes of low testosterone can range from hormonal disorders and infection to chronic illness and obesity. Injury to the testicles, as well as testicular cancer, can also impact testosterone levels. In some instances, the reason for low-T is a mystery.

Normal Testosterone Levels

Although opinions differ about what constitutes low testosterone, the diagnosis usually accompanies a blood testosterone level of less than 300 ng/dL in men.
Those aiming to restore optimal testosterone levels should aim to bring the hormone to the range of 425 to 1,000 ng/dL.[31] Women usually have a range much lower, averaging 21 ng/dl.[32]

Points to Remember

Testosterone, the primary male sex hormone, plays a variety of roles in human health. Not only does it support libido and sexual health including playing a role in the production of sperm, but testosterone also helps build muscle and bone mass and helps your body produce red blood cells.
Testosterone levels naturally decline with age and can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, low motivation, lower sex drive, erectile dysfunction, increased body fat, and reduced muscle and bone mass.
As an alternative to traditional testosterone therapies like patches, gels, and injections, many natural remedies can also help bring this hormone back in balance in men.
Natural ways to boost testosterone include getting regular exercise and quality sleep, losing weightavoiding alcohol, reducing stress, and preventing deficiencies of vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium. Aim to keep testosterone in the normal range, over 425 ng/dL, to avoid the symptoms of low-T.

5G (5th Generation) is now being actively rolled out in many cities around the world. Simultaneously, as awareness over its horrific health and privacy impacts is rising, many places are issuing moratoriums on it or banning it, such as the entire nation of Belgium, the city of Vaud (Switzerland) and San Francisco (USA). Radiofrequency radiation (RF or RFR) and electromagnetic fields (EMF) are being increasingly recognized as new types of pollution – environmental pollution. Here are 13 reasons exposing the 5G danger, which could turn into an unmitigated health and privacy catastrophe if enough people don’t rise up to stop it.

1. 5G Danger: Hijacking Your Sweat Duct Antennae

The 5G network uses and broadcasts frequencies which affect our sweat ducts, which act as antennae. In other words, our largest organ, the skin, can be influenced and manipulated by 5G. As I reported in this the article 5G and IoT: Total Technological Control Grid Being Rolled Out Fast, scientist Dr. Ben-Ishai exposed the connection between 5G and our body’s sweat ducts in this video:
“[The 5G frequencies] will zap [us] with wavelengths that will interact with the geometrical structure of our skin … We found that sweat ducts work like helical antennas … the sweat duct was an integral part of the mechanism for the absorption of energy, electromagnetic, between 75-100 GHz, and that if you changed the character of the sweat duct, i.e. made it work, you could actually change that absorption at some point, and if you could do that you could trace how a person is under stress.“

2. 5G Danger: 5G Amplifies EMF Damage via VGCCs

Wireless radiation and EMF scientist Dr. Martin Pall has done groundbreaking research in explaining exactly how EMFs cause premature aging and injury to the human body, including damage to fertility, brains, hearts and even DNA! He pioneered research showing how EMFs activate the body’s VGCCs (Voltage-gated calcium channels) which causes them to release excess calcium ions into the cell. This then leads to nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide which react nearly instantaneously to form peroxynitrite and free radicals. Many studies like this show peroxynitrite damages DNA. Dr. Pall has stated unequivocally that the“5G rollout is absolutely insane.”

3. 5G Danger: Pulsed Wave Far More Damaging than Continuous Wave Radiation

A significant and unique feature of Smart Meters is that they emit pulsed wave radiation not continuous wave radiation. In other words, they run in start-stop cycles of emitting a burst of EMF then going temporarily inactive. This happens an incredibly high amount of times per day; court documents with testimony from utility companies (like Pacific Gas and Electric Company of California) reveal that smart meters send pulsed waves between 9,600 and 190,000 times per day!
In this 2018 video, Dr. Pall states there are 13 studies which show that pulsed wave EMFs are more active (and dangerous) than continuous wave EMFs. You can read the evidence here.

4. 5G Danger: 5G Promotes Deep EMF Penetration

The main reason why cell or mobile phones are more dangerous for children than adults (apart from the fact that radiation absorption is cumulative over a lifetime) is due to EMF penetration.
Dr. Pall writes:
“The industry has also made claims that more conventional microwave frequency EMFs are limited in effect to the outer 1 cm of the body. We know that is not true, however because of the effects deep in the human brain, on the heart and on hormone systems. Perhaps the most important two studies demonstrating effects deep within the body are the studies of Professor Hässig and his colleagues in Switzerland on cataract formation in newborn calves. These two studies clearly show that when pregnant cows are grazing near mobile phone base stations (also called cell phone towers), the calves are born with very greatly increased incidences of cataracts.”
Hässig wrote in his 2009 study:
“Of 253 calves, 79 (32%) had various degrees of nuclear cataract, but only 9 (3.6%) calves had severe nuclear cataract. Results demonstrate a relation between the location of veals calves with nuclear cataracts in the first trimester of gestation and the strength of antennas. The number of antennas within 100 to 199 meters was associated with oxidative stress and there was an association between oxidative stress and the distance to the nearest MPBS (Mobile Phone Base Station).”

5. 5G Danger: 5G is a Weapons System Disguised as a Consumer Convenience

Mark Steele has been very outspoken against 5G and has now been widely interviewed, including by Project Camelot and also by Sacha Stone in his documentary 5G Apocalypse: The Extinction Event. Steele claims that although widespread reports state that 5G is operating in the 24-100 GHz range, it is actually sub-gigahertz (meaning under the GHz threshold, so still measured in MHz). He says 5G is a weapons system like long-range radar, phased array radar and directed energy (DEW was used in 9/11 and various fires like the Paradise fires). He claims that when you examine 5G hardware, it has a dielectric lens which is proof it is a weapons system. Autonomous vehicles can use 5G to shine in mirrors of other drivers (which is so strong and damaging it is equivalent to assault). Mark talks about how 5G is powerful enough to kill babies in wombs. He states:
“5G is a weapons system, nothing more, nothing less. It’s got nothing to do with telecommunications for humans. 5G is a machine to machine connection for autonomous vehicles.”

6. 5G Danger: LA Firefighters Develop Ailments After Being Too Close to Towers

In this video a 25 year veteran firefighter from Los Angeles compares cell towers to cigarettes. He calls for a stop to the cell/mobile phone base stations being built on or near fire stations. Firefighters are not the only ones suffering the effects; it was reported that hundreds of birds fell from the sky in the Netherlands during a 5G test.

7. 5G Danger: Same Frequencies as used for Crowd Dispersal

5G purportedly uses millimeter wave (MMW) frequencies, so called because the frequencies are so high (in the 24-100 GHz range). Since 1 GHz = 1 billion GHz, we are talking about frequencies with very very short wavelength (the distance between the peak of one wave and the next). The distances are so tiny they are measured in millimeters, hence the term millimeter wave. These are the exact same frequencies used by the military for their non-lethal weapons such as Active Denial Systems for crowd dispersal. These weapons have the capacity to cause tremendous injury. Dr. Paul Ben-Ishai said, “If you are unlucky enough to be standing there when it hits you, you will feel like your body is on fire.”

8. 5G Danger: Mutagenic (Causing DNA Damage) and Carcinogenic (Causing Cancer)?

The MMW frequencies of 5G cause mitochondrial DNA damage – which is then passed down generations. 5G is mutagenic. These mutations are inherited by the next generation! This has grave implications for genetic purity. How many people are thinking about this when they can’t stop looking at their screens? This website lists many studies showing the mitochondrial damage that occurs after exposure to EMF radiation.
With mutagenesis usually comes carcinogenesis. In other words, once something is powerful and dangerous enough to cause DNA damage, chances are high it will lead to cancer. Mark Steele says 5G is a class 1 carcinogen, although the WHO (World Health Organization) very conservatively classifies cell phone towers as a class 2b possible carcinogen. It’s important to note, however, that the WHO is an agency of the UN which was set up by the Rockefellers, an illustrious NWO Illuminati family who plan to use the UN as a vehicle to usher in a One World Government.
5G is being rushed out without the proper safety testing done, so we don’t have much data on how 5G specifically causes cancer, but there is an abundance of evidence showing how 2G, 3G and 4G EMFs are implicated in many kinds of cancer, including brain cancer. This website has a good collection of the many studies done.

9. 5G Danger: Phased Array Densification

5G requires significantly more transmitters or broadcasters than earlier generations. It is a plan of massive infrastructure creation, with stations, towers and bases planned to be put almost everywhere, including in the heart of residential neighborhoods. The effects of this kind of densification could be disastrous.
5G is powerful enough to 3D map the inside of your home and other buildings. Mark Steele specifically highlights the 868 MHz frequency, previously used for battlefield interrogations and which can travel with ease through bricks and concrete. He claims this frequency can single out specific people … interesting given all the electronic harassment and gang stalking which occurs against TIs (Targeted Individuals).
5G infrastructure will consist of small phased array antennas shooting out radiation at their targets like a bullet. The rays of microwaves they produce will be strong enough to pass through walls and human bodies. We will be blanketed with this 24/7/365, and what’s worse, the coverage area is slated to be broader than the current 4G, eventually encompassing every square inch of Earth.

10. 5G Danger: Killing All the Insects?

Insects, birds and children are the most vulnerable to 5G due to their body size. Claire Edwards is a former UN staff editor who brought the EMF/5G issue to their attention of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. She stated in an anti-5G rally speech in Stockholm:
“It’s interesting to note that in the last 20 years we have lost 80% of our insects. And if we get 5G, we’re going to lose 100% of our insects.  When the insects go, we go too.”
Both insects and 5G need antennas: insects use them, among other things, in their sense of smell, while 5G uses them to propagate waves. Not surprisingly, insects are sensitive to 5G EMF waves; this recent study showed that insects exposed to 5G radiation experienced an increase in their body temperature.
“Studies have shown that the frequencies used by 5G increase the body temperature of insects. This phenomenon was not observed with 4G or WiFi.”
“Future wavelengths of the electromagnetic fields used for the wireless telecommunication systems will decrease and become comparable to the body size of insects and therefore, the absorption of RF-EMFs in insects is expected to increase.”

11. 5G Danger: Space-Based 5G

5G is planned to be an inescapable grid – with plans afoot to beam it down from space! This ties into the Space Fence agenda as I discussed in my article Space Fence: Connecting the Surveillance and Transhumanist Agendas. The organization International Appeal Stop 5G on Earth and in Space writes:
“At least five companies are proposing to provide 5G from space from a combined 20,000 satellites in low- and medium-Earth orbit that will blanket the Earth with powerful, focused, steerable beams. Each satellite will emit millimetre waves with an effective radiated power of up to 5 million watts from thousands of antennas arranged in a phased array.”
It is vital to understand the bigger picture of the grand conspiracy here. All these disruptive and hazardous technologies – 5G, wi-fi, wireless radiation, HAARP, ionospheric heating, geoengineering, GMOs, etc. – are going to be woven into one giant integrated system of surveillance, command and control. Just as one small example, geoengineering involves the spraying of chemtrails loaded with metal particulates – which 5G can use.

12. 5G Danger: Re-Radiation Inside the Body

Way back in 2002, RF researcher Arthur Firstenberg published an analysis of 5G long before the technology was approved. He explained how, due to 5G EM pulses being extremely short and delivered in bursts, they actually replicateinside the body – and end up creating tiny new 5G antennas internally. Firstenberg wrote:
“… when extremely short electromagnetic pulses enter the body, something else happens: the moving charges themselves become little antennas that re-radiate the electromagnetic field and send it deeper into the body …”
“These re-radiated waves are called Brillouin precursors … They become significant when either the power or the phase of the wave changes rapidly enough … This means that the reassurance we are being given – that these millimeter waves are too short to penetrate far into the body – is not true.”
This echoes a previous point made – that 5G penetration is a serious danger.

13. 5G Danger: Insurance Companies Refuse to Underwrite Big Wireless. What Do They Know?

Insurance companies (the most famous of which is Lloyds of London) have made headlines by refusing to insure Big Wireless (the telecommunication corporate conglomerate) against wi-fi and 5G-related illnesses and claims:
“Well, Lloyd’s November 2010 Risk Assessment Team’s Report gives us a solid clue: the report compares these wireless technologies with asbestos, in that the early research on asbestos was “inconclusive” and only later did it become obvious to anyone paying attention that asbestos causes cancer. Keep in mind that Lloyd’s Risk Assessment study of wi-fi was published over 8 [now 9 – Ed.] years ago. Even back then, however, their Risk Assessment Team was smart enough to realize that new evidence just might emerge showing that the various wi-fi frequencies do cause illness.”

Conclusion: 5G Grid Part of Larger Command, Control, Surveillance and AI Agenda

5G is qualitatively and quantitatively different to 4G. It is much more than just the next step up from 4G. 5G will not only beam tens to hundreds times more radiation than 4G, but the introduction of MMW technology means a whole new host of hazards. History repeats itself. Just like it took some time for real science to catch up with tobacco/cigarettes, and just like it took some time for real science to catch up with the monstrosity that are GMOs (now rebranded as BioEngineered Foods), so too will real science catch up with 5G. In the meantime, you can expect all sorts of junk science to be put forth to justify it, including misdirections and distractions like only focusing on the thermal effects of wireless (and ignoring the evidence of dangerous non-thermal effects).
Ultimately, 5G is part of the NWO agenda to set up a giant, inescapable command and control grid that eliminates all privacy and allows the manipulators to surveil every single person on the planet all the time. If there was ever a time for activists to step up in the name of freedom, truth, health, privacy and sovereignty, now is the time.

What Can Apple Cider Vinegar Do for You? ~ Dr. Joseph Mercola

What Can Apple Cider Vinegar Do for You?

By Dr. Joseph Mercola,

Contributing writer for Wake Up World.

June 12, 2019.

If you have a bottle of apple cider vinegar in your pantry, you very likely know how valuable this particular staple is to your health. If you are not yet familiar with the many beneficial uses of this versatile and economical home remedy, you may be interested to know it has been used successfully to treat conditions ranging from blood sugar and weight loss to acid reflux and upset stomach. Check out these nine reasons why you should keep a bottle of apple cider vinegar on hand.

How Is Apple Cider Vinegar Made?

Apple cider vinegar is an enzyme- and probiotic-rich fermented food. As the name suggests, it is made from apples, which are allowed to ferment. Making unpasteurized apple cider vinegar follows a process similar to the one used for making other homemade fermented brews, such as kombucha. Below is a high-level overview of a more detailed “how to” process for making homemade apple cider vinegar.1
In the first step of the process, sugar is dissolved in filtered water that is then poured over a variety of coarsely chopped apples. This mixture is allowed to set at room temperature for one to two weeks until bubbles begin to appear as the sugar ferments into alcohol. (Because the sugars are digested through the fermentation process, apple cider vinegar contains very little sugar and carbohydrates, making it a very attractive food from a dietary standpoint.)
During the second step of the process, the apples are strained out and the liquid is maintained, again at room temperature, for an additional three to four weeks. At this time, the alcohol is transforming into vinegar through the action of the acetic acid bacteria — this particular acid gives vinegar its distinctive sour tang. As the bacteria do their job, a small amount of sediment will appear on the bottom of the container and the “mother” culture will form on top, which is a colony of beneficial bacteria.
In fact, you can quickly recognize organic, raw, unfiltered, unprocessed apple cider vinegar by the distinctive presence of the mother. It appears as dark, strand-like chains of cloudy bacterial foam that are actually protein enzyme molecules and probiotic bacteria. Mother can only exist in vinegar that is not pasteurized or filtered, which means you will not find it in most types of vinegar sold at the grocery store.

Nutritional Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

While at least one source2 suggests apple cider vinegar may contain the same nutrient levels as apples, such as vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium and potassium, there is little evidence to support this assertion, particularly for pasteurized varieties. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Nutrient Database3 entry for apple cider vinegar is virtually blank and features data for calories per serving and sodium only.
Some assert unpasteurized, unfiltered varieties of apple cider vinegar, such as you’d make at home, do retain some of the beneficial nutrients present in apples. Even so, it’s the acetic acid4 — a powerful antimicrobial — and to a lesser extent, the malic acid in apple cider vinegar that act on your body in powerful, health-benefiting ways.
Apple cider vinegar also contains citric, formic, lactic and succinic acids, as well as antioxidantssuch as caffeic acid, catechin, chlorogenic acid, epicatechin and gallic acid, which fight free radicals that cause oxidative stress and promote inflammation. Following are nine suggested benefits of apple cider vinegar.5,6

 Aids in Weight Loss

Research published in the journal Bioscience, Biotechnology and Biochemistry in 2009 indicates apple cider vinegar can help you lose weight and shed body fat.7 In this study, 144 obese Japanese adults consumed either 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of vinegar or a placebo drink every day for 12 weeks. Other than restricted alcohol consumption, the participants were free to maintain their usual diet and activity levels.
As shown in the table below, consumption of 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar added to a beverage yielded a positive effect on weight loss and the three other measures of health that were tracked. Consuming 2 tablespoons of vinegar produced the most benefits.
 Vinegar (1 tablespoon)Vinegar (2 tablespoons)Placebo
WEIGHT CHANGE-2.6 pounds-3.7 pounds+0.9 pounds
DECREASE IN BODY FAT PERCENTAGE0.7 percent0.9 percent
DECREASE IN WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE0.5 inches0.75 inches
DECREASE IN TRIGLYCERIDES26 percent26 percent
The study authors concluded, “[D]aily intake of vinegar might be useful in the prevention of metabolic syndrome by reducing obesity.”8 The weight loss is thought to be influenced by the acetic acid in vinegar, which is believed to suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism, as well as reduce water retention.9 Scientists also theorize apple cider vinegar interferes with your body’s digestion of starch, resulting in fewer calories entering your bloodstream.

5D Shift: Exposing the Myth of the “Critical Mass” Ascension ~ Open

5D Shift: Exposing the Myth of the “Critical Mass” Ascension.

By Open

It’s fine that we have distortion in our philosophy. Everything is a perspective, there are no absolutes in relativistic reality. However, what can be severely limiting and derailing, is where a myth becomes an accepted norm within the group consciousness. Particularly one that might prevent people from empowering themselves by following their own path, their own trajectory, and in their own time. Such, I maintain, is the illusion of the idea that, ‘humanity will ascend when there is a critical mass of people to cause a collective shift into the New Paradigm’. The history of previous shifts through the aeons does NOT bear witness to this. So how do Shifts really work?
I should begin by saying, just like anyone else, I am only able to share a perspective on truth, not the ABSOLUTE truth, because that can only be experienced. However, I do call on a good deal of experience from similar shifts in other constellations. I invite you to keep an open mind and heart and find your own truth in relation to what I am about to share.

The Absolute Miracle of Relativity, of Life!

Ever since I’ve been exploring and sharing the current Shift phenomenon here on Earth, I’ve frequently come across, what seems to be, a widely held view that Humanity’s Ascension will happen all together, and when there is a ‘critical mass’ of consciousness to ‘swing the balance’ and ‘raise collective vibration’ into the New Paradigm. And that this will happen due to some major “Event”, such as plasma irradiation from the sun or the Pole Shift or the like. There are plenty of solid reasons why this is a myth, and I’ve personally witnessed in spiritual work how it derails and limits people. Not to say that these events won’t have essential roles to play in The Shift, I believe they will. Just not in the way they’re often spoken of in the spiritual mainstream.
For me, it all boils down to a basic phenomenon of the Universe, which is Realisation and Actualisation of The Self. Life appeared the moment that the singularity exploded into relativity of consciousness – ‘this’ and ‘that’, as waves of awareness that simply arose. This inevitable emergence (given the nature of infinite time, because there is no time) then cascaded outwards as the big bang and progressively condensed into the vast myriad of form we now witness in the known Universe. An absolute miracle!
Time is an illusion, because all is happening in one moment of now. The whole space-time-continuummoves together, which is why you can still have trajectory.  It’s why there is still a previous configuration of the entirety, which we call ‘the past’, and a future configuration that we are moving into – which we can call ‘future landing now’. It means you can get on the bus at point A, travel to work, and at a given amount of ‘time’ later, reasonably expect to be sitting at your desk. So the whole Universe is moving together and yet reconfiguring and morphing in the moment.

The Dynamic of Light and Dark

Within this dynamic ‘the light’, which we may call ‘Unity Consciousness‘ (the memory of the original condition of Oneness) is interweaving through the ‘dark’, what we might call ‘Separation Consciousness’ (‘light and dark are contained within parentheses so as to invite non judgment or polarity causing the limitation of identification with either). Collectively, this dynamic has taken the form of the Universal Torus of interweaving Unity and Separation consciousness. By carefully witnessing the dynamic in consciousness, within, you can clearly see there are places where the light gets stuck within the separation, which thereby causes a dimming – a ‘tightness’ – resulting in the sense of disconnect from The One, from the Source, what we might call ‘the original condition of oneness’.
These distortions or ‘blind spots’ create polarity by bending space time around them. Reality is created this way around the exploration of such ‘karma’. And souls as waves of light are drawn into the density by the Universal Law of Attraction in order to bring deeper awareness into the distortion. Thus, ‘shining the light’ unravels the distortion. But actually, what this really means, is that souls are drawn by their own unconsciousness, their own karma, which mirrors a blind spot contained within the collective karmic construct. By working their way through, and unravelling aligned truth within the distortion, light is now infused through that previously dim spot in consciousness.

All At Different Places of Realisation

Importantly all souls are all at different points in their journey – in their journey of remembering and realisation. Some will have been born very early (an earlier form) in the cascading universal dynamic. Others much later (a later form of the space time continuum). Some will have already worked through deep complexity of the relativistic dynamic, others will be reaching the point where they have become basically ‘awake‘. So throughout history you get souls that clearly stand out from the collective in terms of their awakeness, such as the Buddha, or Jesus for example (not to mention plenty of others). It is not that they are any more special than anyone else, simply that they have travelled through enough experience through the space-time-continuum to be able to shed light on what’s taking place around them, and others resonate with what they feel emanting from them.
And whichever ‘master’ you care to consider, they are all at unique points on their journey and all expressing uniquely, based on their own experience. Because each is at a different stage in their evolution. And this leads to the main point of my article:
The soul is on a progressive journey of realisation and actualisation of The One. Each is at a different stage of that emergence. Whilst we might come together into a collective construct, each one of us is in unique circumstances of their making with unique karma to unravel through. If one soul could realise your journey for you, if your journey was identical to the journey of another, then by the Law of Attraction, both souls would merge into one another and become one, with no separation. Life can only be sustained by the difference, by relativity, no matter how subtle. What this means is that a soul can only shift vibration into another vibrational frequency when it is ready to, when it has journied and realised enough to sustain the higher vibration.
Another soul may be able to reflect a resonant light, or particular collective circumstances may cause plenty to start activating, but each soul is embarked on a unique journey. Each soul is learning and evolving at its own speed. If another soul could realise for you, then that negates your own journey, your own reason for being. You simply wouldn’t exist!

Forging the Soul

For anyone whose been involved in intensive spiritual work, they will surely tell you that the journey is challenging and mysterious. That each step is crafted through the deep exploration and inquiry of consciousness. That true progress can often be a nitty gritty, painstaking phenomenon, of uncovering the veils of distortion through challenging circumstances and thereby progressively forging the soul. This is the majesty of self realisation. You determine your unique sovereignty by forging the soul in the crucible of life. To suggest that the shift by those around you can suddenly negate all of this painstaking work, all of this crafting and honing, all of this personal karma, all of this dedication, is not only naive, but also dishonouring of the journey of realisation that each soul is weaving.
How would the salmon ever become the miracle that it is, without its own majestic forging up the river of life, back to the source of its own essence?
What we can say however, is that one ‘salmon’ will inspire another. When Roger Bannister did the unthinkable in the 1950s and broke the 4 minute mile, it precipitated a plethora of others to do the same in the years that followed. BUT, each still had to do the work, still put in the miles, still forge muscles, expand heart and lung capacity in order to achieve the same. So it precipitated a wave of people who inspired each other. Collective events that inspire and resonate soul can do that, yes. But each person still has to do the necessary work.

A Clear Point of Divergence Has Begun

To me, what clearly defines our Ascension right now, is that a wave of people who have a sense of what is unfolding, can feel the inner calling driving them forwards into the light, who are prepared to put in the daily commitment of work to forge sovereignty of soul. In my observation, they are doing so because they realise the urgency of the current situation and the majesty of what is possible. At these times of great challenge and change, I ask you, what else is there truly worthwhile to do?
So what of some great ‘event’, such as the Pole Shift or Powerful Solar Transformation?
When the collective (those who are truly exploring) gets wind of the potential for dramatic change to our reality, then they pick up the impetus, they pick up the calling and motivation. As other ‘salmon’ begin the journey back to the source, so it inspires them to do the same. Hence you get a wave of souls moving forwards approximately ‘together’. And since there will be similar karmic lessons common to all, then people will be able to resonate amongst each other. And this is wonderful, it fosters tremendous sense of community and belonging – of the great adventure. BUT, nevertheless, each must work to run the ‘4 minute mile’ in their own unique way, by forging the ‘muscles’ in their own ‘legs’.
Do not be fooled, no one else, nor any particular ‘event’, can do that for you. Although yes, I agree, a strong wave of resonance can animate the soul and inspire other people around you.
Right now what I witness happening out their in society is the beginnings of a divergence. As I shared in my recent article about the Revelations of the Hopi Prophecy, there is clearly a vast body of people either unconsciously, or with a degree of awareness, heading into a high tech, ‘SMART’, synthetic reality. You can witness this progressively enfolding plenty around you, whether at the bus stop, the restaurant, at work, home, and even in the deepest countryside. Then there are others who see past the illusion of this mental captivation; that the smoke and mirrors point not to greater freedom of choice, but greater channeling and confinement – a swallowing of sovereignty.

Progressive Levels of Awakening

However, let’s also be clear about ‘awakening’. Awakening to the illusion of the matrix is NOT the same as awakening to the soul. And awakening to the soul, is NOT the same as following the soul. In other words, as Openhand shared in the 5GATEWAYS film, there are progressive levels of awakening. It is my clear contention that there are plenty out there ‘pointing at the moon’, but not digging deep enough within, to discover true ‘heaven’. I call the phenomenon because there’s a tremendous amount of distraction pointing to solutions ‘out there’ or fixing the external, when the causality is on the internal. Waiting for the ‘cabal’ to fall for example ‘so that freedom may truly happen’. Or waiting for ET disclosure ‘out there’, when the real influences are happening inside within the unconscious shadows.
So we’ve reached a determination point, a divergence is beginning to happen. As spiritually incorrect as this may seem for me to call it, nevertheless, it’s the truth that I clearly witness. A wave of souls is clearly beginning to move – I can feel it all around me in the ether. And I witness it in the small groups of quietly dedicated and committed people around the world. It’s happening beyond the hype, the surface fizz, the glitz and the glamour. What do you honestly witness?

Let’s Inspire and Motivate Each Other

My calling is for us to inspire each other, yes. Let us reflect the circumstances of our own journey so others may gain resonance for theirs. Let us engage in community and inspire each other in the great adventure. But at the same time, remember, this is a journey of realisation of your own unique soul. Only you can decide to take the steps necessary. Only you can shine the light through your particular circumstances in your own unique way. Only you can find the grace and the grit to push through the necessary layers that are yours alone.
That is your blessing. Your particular miracle that only you can realise. It’s what gives each meaning and purpose. Let us celebrate in the phenomenal diversity of life, this majesty created by the relativity, by our uniqueness, and inspire those to the left and right of you. Onwards and upwards!
“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.  And there are things to be considered . . .
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.”
Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time!”
“There is a river flowing now very fast.  It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.  They will try to hold on to the shore.   They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.
“Know the river has its destination.  The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.   And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.  At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves.  For the moment that we do,  our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
“The time for the lone wolf is over.  Gather yourselves!  Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary.  All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Big Dreams or Big Disappointments? Astrology Forecast 9/16th June 2019 ~ Lorna Bevan

Big Dreams or Big Disappointments?

 Astrology Forecast June 9th – June 16th 2019.

By Lorna Bevan

Guest writer for Wake Up World.

June 9th, 2019.

Originally published at hareinthemoonastrology.co.uk and reproduced here with permission.
Without sugar coating it, the astrological weather is stormy. For many, it is going to be a week of challenges, roadblocks and delays. For others, opportunities to dream large, to be extra creative and to make a personal breakthrough. It all depends on which time-line you’ve chosen. The seismic window to Monday June 17th’s doozy of a Full Moon opens on Thursday, suggesting that feelings of pressure and stress will build.

There are multiple Sun/Mercury/Mars contacts with Neptune/Pluto/Saturn and the Nodes of Fate, so events will play out in your personal life as well as in the collective. The real volatility arises from both Mars and Mercury – both at maximum impact – conjuncting the Node of Fate and opposing Saturn/Pluto/karmic South Node of Fate right on the midpoint of the July 2 + 16th eclipses. This is a preview of coming “attractions” so pay attention to the issues that arise for you – they will intensify in the next 3 weeks to the eclipses.
In Monday’s chart there are two big aspect patterns. The Sun forms a Grand Cross with Jupiter, Neptune and the Moon as Venus/Moon/Pluto dance together in a flowing Grand Trine. Translated, it suggests that if you listen to your own guidance, refuse to sit and watch the old world burn and take action towards a better future, you will be surprised at the insights, downloads and inspiration you receive.

Chandra Symbol for Gemini 19:

Strange Creatures peeking Out from behind Trees
“Surprises, destiny shocks, stunning events present a way to evolve rapidly for the daring and the wild. Whatever you assume and prepare for, the moment shall be different. Nothing is meant to be straightforward here. Your greater self finds ways to get at your little self who wants to hide in safe places, when instead a much larger destiny is in the works–which insists upon knocking at your door, preferably a back door or side door, to jump right in, scare the living daylights out of you, and wake you up for the next scintillating adventure along a vast and unlimited spectrum.” From Inside Degrees Elias Lonsdale.

Aries Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

As a sign whose personal ruler is Mars, you know all about warrior spirit. However, this week when you have to negotiate a potential minefield, you are better off taking avoiding action rather than going for confrontation. With Mars and Mercury challenging Saturn and Pluto across the work/life axis of your chart on a sensitive eclipse point, something’s got to give. You may hear news connected with your career or events at home may upset your plans and need your attention. Whatever arises, it’s reality check time and you can’t hide your head in the sand. Frame it as an opportunity to devise a more balanced and authentic life, rather than a derailment.
A calculated retreat is better than burning bridges.

Taurus Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

With the most confrontative astrology playing out across your angle of communication, expect setbacks, delays or reversals to derail your plans. Others will be challenging, slow to respond or just plain awkward. However, knowing that this will peak at June 17th’s Full Moon and be sorted by July 2nd’s eclipse ,gives you the perspective you need to stay calm, centred and reasonable. Your finances are supported by the Sun, Venus and Jupiter so if an unwelcome reality check arrives, make the necessary changes then move forward to new opportunities. There are ways to increase your income streams available but first you have to be open for business
As Michelle Obama said:” When they go low, you go high”.

Gemini Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

The good news is that Venus moves into Gemini, drawing others towards you and generally smoothing your path. This is all to the good as your ruler Mercury in cahoots with Mars is facing off with hardnosed Saturn and Pluto in your financial zone. Given that they are right on the sensitive midpoint of July’s eclipses and this is a week building to a Full Moon, pay attention to any challenges to do with money, deal with them immediately and keep a close eye on the bottom line. The Sun aligned with expansive Jupiter may be persuading to spend, spend, spend but right now, that’s definitely not a good idea.
Money represents choices and freedom so grow it instead of scattering it.

Cancer Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

Of all the signs, apart from Capricorn, you are feeling the winds of change blowing most strongly. Not only are we in a week building to a doozy of a Full Moon but Mars and Mercury are in Cancer-both at maximum disruptive impact- and are at odds with reality planets Saturn and Pluto. Knowing this in advance, if you expect others to be difficult, awkward or challenging you’ll be able to draw on your inner resources of calmness amidst the storm and tell yourself this is just a blip on the radar. The upside of this astrology is the gift of rocket fuelled momentum and motivation to follow your own agenda wherever it leads.
You are the sky, everything else is just weather.

Leo Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

Remember the saying:” It’s not what happens, but how you respond”? Well it’s a week to make it your mantra. With Mercury and Mars at odds with reality planets Saturn and Pluto, something’s got to give. In your case, friends, allies and groups may be facing challenges of their own and have little time for yours. If so, cut both them and you some slack and offer your input and support. Keep looking at what is working and do more of it. With all this activity happening in your hidden 12th House, there is some important information yet to emerge, probably at the July 2 and 16th eclipses. When it does, it will make all the difference.
Take nothing personally.

Virgo Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

Of all the signs, you have the greatest planetary support this week. A Grand Cross across fellow mutable signs is activating all 4 angles of your solar chart. With the Sun in your career zone aligned with expansive Jupiter and limitless Neptune, all your relationships-personal and professional- are forefront and centre stage. No matter what challenges arise, no matter how stressed or difficult some people seem to be, offer your support, smooth things over and watch as your generosity comes back to you tenfold .Next Monday’s Full Moon will end a long phase of relationship disappointments so keep your eyes on where you want to go, not on where you have been.
Think of the Dalai Lama’s words:” My religion is kindness”.

Libra Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

With all four angles-the support structures-of your chart under pressure this week, you may feel like taking off and leaving it all behind. And that’s the best possible thing you could do, even if it’s just grabbing some brief time out or planning an exciting trip .You have the backing of the Sun lighting up your zone of far horizons with expansive Jupiter, nudging you to think bigger, create a wider platform and see beyond the confines of your comfort zone. And when you can see the forest for the trees, you can far more easily put any challenges, delays or disruptions into perspective. In the last couple of years, you’ve been focused on firefighting, now it’s time to concentrate on creating a better, more satisfying future.
Let yourself of the hook and treat yourself gently.

Scorpio Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

Under such challenging astrology, you need to know your priorities and stick to them, instead of allowing yourself to be derailed by other people’s agendas. For you as a Scorpio, from now until after July’s eclipses, the focus needs to be on your finances, your resources and your security. Keep in mind that we are heading towards a Full Moon on Monday July 17th and that the seismic window opens on Thursday. Others will be difficult, awkward or just plain immovable and that includes partners of all kinds and longstanding contracts. If you receive a reality check, take it on board straightaway and change direction. Sun and Jupiter could either deliver you a money gift or encourage you to spend, spend, spend.
Keep your eyes on the prize.

Sagittarius Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

For you as a Sagittarian, June is one of the most pivotal months of 2019.This means that you need to be alert for both opportunity and derailment. With your expansive ruler Jupiter in your own sign opposite the Sun and aligned with slippery Neptune, you might be tempted to go too far or over the top in your enthusiasm for one exciting new project. Take a step back and make sure that those closest to you feel involved, loved and part of your journey. When roadblocks, challenges or reality checks arrive this week in the build up to a tense Full Moon, keep calm and tell yourself silence is better than hoof in mouth syndrome.
A deep inbreath.

Capricorn Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

Both June and July are set to be pivotal months for solar Capricorns. Knowing this should enable you to play a long game, instead of getting caught up in each event as it happens. Opposing reality planets Saturn and Pluto in your own sign are Mercury and Mars-both at maximum impact. Not only that but they are right on the hyper-sensitive midpoint of the Cancer/Capricorn eclipses arriving in less than three weeks and in the volatile seismic window of June 17th’s Full Moon. This makes relationships of all kinds-personal and professional-more challenging than usual. Others with their own agenda may be resistant, deliberately awkward or challenging. Rather than confront them, leave them to their own devices and stick to your plans. This is a blip on the radar, not a total derailment.
A bigger perspective.

Aquarius Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

You might find it difficult to focus on the positive this week, especially as people around you may be challenging, volatile or facing their own problems. The trick is not to take any of it personally and see it as a period of unsettled planetary weather. Your angle of retreat and adaptation is feeling the strain as Mercury and Mars battle it out with Saturn and Pluto. This is a time to fix what can be fixed and surrender to what you can’t control. Rather than keeping on keeping on and then burning out, make some beneficial changes to your health and wellbeing routines, building in more downtime and lots more rest. Be extra kind and gentle with yourself-the world won’t grind to a halt if you stop pushing yourself.
Rebalancing mind, body and soul.

Pisces Week Ahead Forecast: June 9-16, 2019

June -especially this week and next-is tough going for everyone. Keep that in mind if you’re feeling off colour, drained or demoralised. This is a week when the seismic window opens ahead of a doozy of a Full Moon next Monday 17th right at the base of your chart. On top of that, Mercury and Mars are at odds with heavy hitters Saturn and Pluto, giving you a preview of next month’s eclipse issues. Jupiter is halfway through his trip through your career zone, so by now you should have proof of being either perfectly on track or wildly off course. Channel these alignments by taking a long hard look at your trajectory and making any course corrections that are needed.
Remove your rose- tinted glasses.

Make sure your satnav, map or inner compass is working well.

The Energy of the Divine Masculine ~ Ethan Indigo Smith

The Energy of the Divine Masculine.

By Ethan Indigo Smith.

Contributing writer for Wake Up World

June 6th, 2019

.

Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.” ~The Kybalion
You’ve probably heard of the divine feminine, but what do you know about the divine masculine?
Many people can conceptualize the idea of toxic masculinity as opposed to divine masculinity and most are against its perversions, but understanding how to head towards divine masculinity is a much harder concept to grasp.
To get to grips with the concept let’s start by defining the energy of masculinity and femininity in contrast. The philosophy of the Duality of Polarity assists in revealing mutual oppositional energies of the feminine and masculine. Understanding the primal energies to simplify enabling feminine and masculine concepts to emerge clearly, unhindered by national, traditional, and even sexual constructs. We are made up of feminine and masculine energy formed in contrast of our physical female or male bodies, and via our inner anima and animus natures.
The Geometry of Energy effectively illustrates the divine feminine and the divine masculine energies. The four dimensions of geometry, when applied to measuring energies, can greatly aid our understanding of the internal, spiritual and psychological world. The four dimensions of geometry are points, lines, planes, and solids. Points and lines symbolize linear of masculine energy, whereas planes and solids symbolize the curvature of feminine energy.
The energy of the divine feminine is both receptive and creative.
The energy of the divine masculine is both reflective and projective.
There is creativity in masculinity just as there is reflectivity in femininity. The idea of inner feminine in man and inner masculine in woman is commonly understood as the anima and animus; essentially defined as inner nature containing elements of mutually dependent opposites. The Yin Yang illustrates this with the circles in the swirls.
“The Dao is also the way in the following sense – nothing exists except as a relation with other similarly postulated ideas. Nothing can be known in itself, but only as one of the participants in a series of events.” ~A. Crowley
The Dao is made up of feminine and masculine energies, each codependent, mutually arising within the other, and each potentiating the each other. The story of one without the other is fruitless and lacking. The same goes for the story of individuals seeking self-development and divinity as opposed to basic modality. If we want to truly achieve our potential, we need this combination and contrast of energies.

Contrasting the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine

The divine feminine, although as rare a character in the world as the divine masculine, is better understood than the divine masculine.  The feminine energy is caring in an all-encompassing manner, receptive to all, adopting and taking in all energy. The divine feminine embraces everything in a caring, receptive, motherly circle and is capable of creating a whole other being.
The divine masculine on the other hand embodies reflective and projective energies. Instead of being receptive to energy the divine masculine reflects it, like a shield or a mirror. Instead of being creative of volume onto itself the divine masculine is projective of will, projecting  energy like a sword with a singular focus on the task at hand.

The Difference Between the Divine Masculine and the Perverse Masculine

The divine masculine idea is of a peaceful warrior. This archetype has led to the masculine perversion where warriors are turned into institutionalized soldiers, where the righteousness of self-defense is obscured by war-minded perversions and abusive behavior. This perversion of masculine will is so commonly accepted as normal that  women seeking equality among men will do so by adopting this militaristic mode of behavior.  Consider the saying  ‘all is fair in love and war.’
So, what can we do to draw out the divine masculine and to inhibit expression of the perverted masculine?
There is an expression in martial arts that embodies the divine masculine or at least presents a notion or rule that is preventative of the perverted masculine. The notion is to never attack in anger.
If we think about this, we can see that the difference between the divine masculine and the perverse masculine is the difference between a martial artist and a soldier. The most basic principle of martial arts is to never attack firstwhereas a soldier is paid to follow orders, including the order to attack first. The divine masculine differs from the perverse masculine by being helpful or at the very least in not hindering.
Basic and perverse masculinity clashes – with everything. The reflective energy of mirrors however reveals the potential of reflective masculine energy. Whatever is shown in the mirror is shined directly back. If the divine masculine is shown quality and caring energy it is reflected in return. If the divine masculine is attacked, with aikido like redirection, the attack is reflected and redirected. If two or more mirrors are reflecting quality, helpful projected energy, then the reflections magnify.
The divine masculine also projects energy, as a direct manifestation of will into the collective.  The divine feminine is creative of whole other beings but the divine masculine wills its own being. Of course, the creation of the divine feminine requires at least the energy of the masculine. In the same manner the projection of the divine masculine also requires aspects of the divine feminine, namely the circular inclusion of care and caring.
These energies are theoretic but have real life application as a helpful self-understanding tool. If at any given moment you are unsure as to what action would embody divinity, simply seek to act with care.  Self-defense and the defense of others requires care whereas bullying and attacking contain no care. The more you push forward compassion and care the more your divinity unfolds.
If you are a man, think about adding receptivity and creativity to your form and flow to engage balance. If you are a woman, contemplate adding reflectivity and projectivity to your own form and flow.
Above all, remember: the divine masculine never attacks first.
“In Aikido we never attack. An attack is proof that one is out of control. Never run away from any kind of challenge, but do not try to suppress or control an opponent unnaturally. Let attackers come any way they like and then blend with them. Never chase after opponents. Redirect each attack and get firmly behind it.” ~Morihei Ueshiba

Mind at the Centre – The Radical Liberation of My Mental World ~ Michael Grosso.

Mind at the Centre.

The Radical Liberation of My Mental World.

By Michael Grosso

Guest Writer for Wake Up World.

June 1st, 2019.

It is a curious fact that we have successfully used our minds to penetrate profound secrets of the physical universe, but when it comes to grasping the nature of our minds, we are baffled. This is the famous mind-body problem, the ‘hard’ problem being to account for our consciousness, which is utterly unlike anything physical. The mind, it seems, has a hard time trying to understand itself.
In this essay, I describe how I evolved my view of the subject, which is deeply at odds with mainstream physicalism. Without putting a label on my view, there were two crucial steps I took, theoretical and empirical.

First, a comment on the word empirical – it comes from a Greek verb that means ‘experience’, but the modern trend has been to use it only for sense experience, which is too narrow. All kinds of experience are possible, including dreams, out-of-body states, hallucinations, visionary trances – the whole range of reported mental experiences.
Certain experiences I had were decisive in helping me form my concept of mind. Very few people are concerned with trying to understand the nature of their own minds; we all use our minds constantly but rarely reflectively. This shouldn’t surprise us. Our brains evolved to help us survive and replicate in a material world. To wonder too much at the mysteries of being could be extremely hazardous. To do so represents a study called philosophy of mind, one of a subset of problems that come under the heading of metaphysics.
The question about the nature of our minds is not only fundamental but riddled with controversy. Nor is the topic inconsequential, as I suggest in my conclusion. But here is the problem – in an age of advanced physical science, a certain default conception of mind has jelled into a state of uncritical acceptance. Although people constantly use mental terminology – the problem is on my mind, I dreamt of my dead aunt, I remember the first time we met, I am afraid to take the exam, I felt that was a beautiful piece of music, etc., etc. – the mainline view has taken the form of physicalism. According to this view, our mental life is in one way or another reducible to some set of physical conditions, especially if they are brain-based. Talk of mind for many who subscribe to physicalism is pegged as folklorish. It’s talk of something that either doesn’t exist or if it does is some kind of puzzling illusion without any real effects on anything. My instinctive response to that self-satisfied conceit: bullshit!
I first became conscious of this situation when I was in graduate school at Columbia University. I recall one day casually mentioning to a fellow student that from time to time I had psychic experiences. My friend looked at me rather wide-eyed and said: “But that’s impossible! It would imply dualism!” Evidently, it was official. I could not have had the experiences I said I had. I realised there was a choice: ignore, deny, indeed destroy my own experience or reject the mainline dogma that my fellow student had blithely repeated.
One thing I learned from this exchange: the counter-intuitive anti-mind position is entrenched in the prevailing ‘educated’ culture. It often seems necessary to have a jolting psychic encounter before one comes out and opposes the reigning dogmas. Neuroscientists who have near-death epiphanies make strong witnesses willing to come out and challenge mainstream materialism.1
After graduate school I continued to have psychic experiences that were officially forbidden, telepathic and precognitive, as well as incidents of unexplained physical events, and even some that pointed toward postmortem survival.2
All these are officially forbidden because they contradict the materialist creed; they imply the independent reality of mental occurrences and therefore perhaps of a mental world. But most outrageous is anything suggesting people survive bodily death.
The official standpoint wants us completely and totally dead.
I knew I wasn’t the only person in the world to have psychic experiences. So I met others who had been in the metaphysical twilight zone, began to read the vast literature on the subject, and got to know contemporary researchers.
All of this information and all the persons involved in this largely extra-institutional field of study altered my perception of reality. I learned to see myself in a different light. I often had dreams that I lived in a house with rooms I didn’t know I had, rooms that opened up into wild landscapes. I would often wake up feeling both uneasy and exhilarated. I was confident I had hardly begun to know myself. And here is one coup I can boast of: I learned to resist feeling nauseated when I listened to know-it-alls pontificate about the non-existence of things I knew by acquaintance.
I taught college level courses on psychic phenomena and found that virtually all my students were able to write reports – given highly specific criteria to guide them – on cases of apparent psychic performance they were able to dig up from their immediate social environment. Add the constant appearance of such phenomena as themes in movies, TV, fiction, art, and now everywhere on the Internet – and finally, and scarcely a minor matter, the whole of history, especially the so-called ‘religious’ history of humankind, is oozing at every pore with all that officially forbidden psychic, spiritual, and mystical stuff and its attendant physical weirdness. The most extraordinary case I came across was the ecstatic, Joseph of Copertino, a full-spectrum thaumaturge, and in my eyes, a neat mock-up for a postmodern Superman.3
How the massively profound and mysterious experience of the human race can be squeezed into the pint-sized intellectual apparatus of reductive physicalism, beats me. To insist on such a tyrannically constricted peep-hole into reality is a war-crime against the human spirit. The main point: my own experience and the experience of countless human beings blatantly contradict the little jail-house worldview of reductive physicalism. So much for that initial, but for me, decisive first step in talking about the nature of mind: as it should, experience trumps theoretical obsession. On now to theory.
Certain theoretical steps freed me to form a picture of mind more in tune with my experience. Ideas of William James, Irwin Schrödinger, and Carl Jung combined to get rid of an oppressive assumption. As long as I saw my mind and interior world as solely an outgrowth of my brain, my existence seemed that of a doomed outlier, a creature tainted to the core by contingency and suffering from severe causal impotence.
William James, however, offered an alternate view of what might be going on. In a lecture on immortality he gave to a Harvard audience at the end of the nineteenth century, he was faced with trying to account for a variety of human experiences that made no sense in light of the new scientific materialism, according to which everything mental must be some kind of secondary side effect of the really real stuff, the physical. James showed that we are free to assume that consciousness does not emerge from the brain at all. We may in fact assume that brains transmit but do not create consciousness. Consciousness may be a reality, or dimension of being, in and of and even for itself. Mind, not derived from anything physical, does interact with the physical. So we can grant all the mind-brain correlations of neuroscience, without assuming that mind is brain-born or brain-derived.
The idea used to illustrate this is a radio or a TV set: what is heard or seen through such machines originate from somewhere outside the machines. The machines (our brains) are detectors, transmitters, transducers of signals, energies, but from elsewhere; brains are not creators of anything and minds are not machines.
I – my mind – is affected by my body; I can also affect my body, even my brain, and it turns out that the brain is more plastic than formerly assumed. By effort and practice one’s mind can appropriate parts of the brain to reconnect and recapture a lost function. But then brain disease can impair mental function. However, evidence shows that people with impaired brains sometimes recover their mental capacities just before death. This seems to show that impaired brains suppress but do not destroy mental function and content since the latter may reappear as death disentangles mind from brain.
The big point learned from James is that although we live enmeshed with and through our brains, our personal mental life is part of a pre-existing and larger reality. The irreducibility of the mind to the brain that James’s view entails has been reiterated in a different form in recent times with talk of the so-called “hard problem” enunciated by David Chalmers. Virtually everybody nowadays agrees that the reduction of consciousness to the physical is not even remotely conceivable.
Now to a big idea. It seemed perfectly reasonable to assume that consciousness, if not brain-derived, is then a given, a basic part of the basic furniture of being. As far as the mainline view, with a little help from James, we have just turned it upside down. Instead of reducing and eviscerating the substance of mind, we have assigned it a much wider and more fundamental place in nature.
There’s a second move I made toward the radical liberation of my mental life. Schrödinger, one of the founders of quantum mechanics, declared that mind is and can only be numerically one. There is nowhere in the world of mind that you can carve out pieces so as to make mind plural, as you could a sheet of paper or a carbon atom. This doctrine of the one mind, which inspired Schrödinger, can be traced back to the Hindu Upanishads,
The one mind that is filtered through my brain is bound to create the illusion of isolation and separateness. We then naturally identify with our bodies and unique personal perspectives, so the differences between you and me are real enough. And yet, the more deeply we enter ourselves, the more we merge toward the oneness of our humanity that lies in our common consciousness. Simply as a practical point I would say: The way toward the oneness of humanity is not by forcing uniformity but by not fixating on our uniqueness. We can celebrate diversity without neglecting the underlying oneness of spirit.
Another teacher that helped free me to place mind at the centre of my worldview was C. G. Jung. According to Jung, we live from moment to moment and from first to last in a psychical world of images. The stream of interweaving mental and bodily imagery that we experience, punctuated by episodes of more but different kinds of dream imagery, is our existential milieu. There is no exit from this infinitely complex and nuanced world of subjectivity. Jung’s psychical idealism in which the psyche is composed of images is literally where it’s at. It’s impossible to exit from our subjectivity. This, however, does not imply solipsism. In fact, it suggests a much wider range of communication potential. According to the physicalist, however, we have no deep communal mental or spiritual roots; we are separate bodies driven wholly and solely to consume and replicate.
Thanks to my own experience, and helped by fellow travellers, I fought my way free from the suffocating worldview that would have imposed itself on me, if I had let it. Aware now of the primal status of my inner reality, of its numerical oneness in Schrödinger’s Upanishadic sense, and of its self-existence and pervasiveness in nature, I’m in a better place than I began, with the albatross of physicalism off my back. Once we expand our concept of mind, the range of the possible increases exponentially. The idea is not just to think this but to embrace it as we embrace somebody we love.
I want to discuss two big ideas in relation to this expanded concept of mind. The first is the question of life after death, a perennial belief or at least hope of humankind. No doubt that if the prevailing view of mind as some blurry side-effect of living brains is correct, afterlife or immortality talk would have to sputter to a stop. My story is not quite so grim. I can at least report that a large body of evidence exists suggesting that some people survive death with their personalities intact.4 The vast majority of competent scientists and generally educated people are ignorant of this evidence, and seem to lack the curiosity (or the courage) to look into it with an open mind.
I will make one specific point about the idea of consciousness after death. If physicalism were true, we’d have to say no to life after death. But physicalism is false, as anyone with a mind can prove with thoughtful self-scrutiny. So the question remains open. If the model suggested here is true, and consciousness does not ‘emerge’ from the brain – if in short the brain does not create but transmit consciousness – then brain-death would not entail consciousness-death. This move will not guarantee there is a heaven. But the scene has shifted to a sunnier living-room, a room with bay windows that look out upon what seems a magical and enticing forest. Consciousness after bodily death assumes a new mantle of possibility. In light of the evidence collected by researchers, a country of new thought awaits explorers with honest minds and rich hearts.
Given the premise of a primary mental reality, as put forth here, there is another big issue related to rejection of the mainstream view of mind. In the world traditions, besides the idea of life after death, we find ideas of divine agencies – of spirits, angels, demons, gods, goddesses, and so forth. The so-called new atheists have tried to demolish religion, but the critique is shallow, intolerant and too sweeping. They mostly have nothing to say of interest about the core spiritual beliefs that revolve around the mystical experiences of religion.
Expansion of the concept of mind as one and transpersonal, based on our discussion of James, Schrödinger, and Jung, helps us understand how certain religious ideas might arise: for example, the belief in agencies listed above, along with the belief that humans can interact with these higher ones, however named or described. Different cultures and individuals perennially engage the transcendent mind we have described, always in diverse ways, using diverse vocabularies, rites and myths. While happily granting all this, we also assume there is the transcendent one mind, the one underlying consciousness that seeps into our experience through our uniquely conditioned brains and cultures. This too is real and may be thought of as the matrix of all transcendent experience.
In short, while materialists are forced to condemn the whole of ‘religion’ as nonsensical and pernicious, once we acknowledge the reality of transcendent mind, we can appreciate the positive content of all the religions. But we can – must – also carry on a critique of the violently stupid and anti-human offshoots of religious psychopathy.
I think that a good deal of anti-religionism can be as narrow and destructive as the warped religionism the critics love to attack. This leads to my final thought regarding my evolution toward this highly expanded (and radically democratic) view of mind. My views are broadly shared by a significant portion of scholars and thinkers, living and dead. But at this point we are a minority, a voice in the wilderness of self-destructing neo-liberalism,5 and at a time when physicalist metaphysics and practical materialist ideologies are triumphant almost everywhere on the planet.
To take a single but revealing example, consider the amount of money the US invests in its military budget. Of the $1.11 trillion dollars of federal discretionary spending, the US in 2015 consumed 54% or $598.5 billion dollars on the military budget, equal to the next seven largest military budgets, China, Saudi Arabia, etc. Now here is my strange-sounding question: How much of the discretionary spending goes to research on what happens to people after we kill them? The answer, of course, is nothing at all. More than half the national treasure is spent on producing and sustaining an unprecedented world-dominating military machine, with tentacles in the 800 bases planted all over the planet.
This may be an odd way to point out how our civilisation operates, but it’s only one example of how materialist values are acted out to the detriment of life everywhere. What’s clear is that the default option is military not diplomatic, force rather than persuasion. Another example is the way the pharmaceutical industries are edging talk (and therefore mental) therapy out of existence.6 Our entire capitalist-consumerist economy privileges materialist values such as limitless profit and gratification of appetite over justice and self-mastery. Materialism today is not just a philosophical position. It is an attitude, a disposition – a cancer metastasizing in human society. It needs to be not just intellectually refuted but excised from the entrails of a morally corrupt culture.

Adverse Effects of Antipsychotic Drugs in Children ~ Kelly Brogan

Adverse Effects of Antipsychotic Drugs in Children.

By Kelly Brogan, M.D.

Guest writer for Wake Up World.

May 31st, 2019.

Originally published at kellybroganmd.com and reproduced here with permission.
We’ve all wished for it at one time or another. It may have been with your son who can’t sit still in school, your niece who was throwing a temper-tantrum, or a child who won’t stop crying on that redeye flight. Wouldn’t it be nice to pull out a tranquilizer dart and poof…turn that little Tasmanian devil into a calm, quiet, sleeping beauty!?
The idea of that is not far from reality. Tranquilizer darts often contain antipsychotic drugs and there is a growing trend to prescribe these to our children. From 1993 to 2002, the number of office based visits that included an antipsychotic drug increased more than 500%.1
As a parent desperate for answers, reaching for a quick fix pill can be understandably tempting. But what is the cost of doing so?

Adult Side Effects of Antipsychotic Drugs

Our collective focus on the quick fix makes it easy to ignore the long-term considerations around such an intervention. We have vast amounts of data showing that antipsychotic drugs cause high blood sugar, excess fat accumulation around the waist, low levels of good cholesterol (HDL), high levels of triglycerides, and increased blood pressure 3 in adults. Having three out of these five risk factors means that you have something called the metabolic syndrome. Basically, this is a fancy term that means you are at an increased risk of developing diabetes, heart disease and stroke.4Longitudinal studies have shown that up to 52.4% of schizophrenic patients who start an antipsychotic drug will develop metabolic syndrome within the first three months of treatment.5Pretty scary stuff.
However, the vast majority of this data comes from studies done on adults, and we’re here to talk about using these drugs in our children. Surprisingly, even though they are being used more and more in our youth, we don’t have a lot of data to see what the long-term consequences will be. Do antipsychotic drugs predispose our children to the metabolic syndrome just like adults? Or are they somehow protected from these deleterious effects?

Recent Study Sheds Light

A recent study helps us to further understand these questions. Children between the ages of six and eighteen were randomized into three groups. Each group was given one of the following ‘second-generation’ antipsychotic drugs: olanzapine, risperidone or aripiprazole. All subjects had behavior problems and at least one psychiatric diagnosis, such as ADHD. None had ever taken antipsychotic drugs before.
At the conclusion of the twelve-week study, all three groups showed behavioral change. However, all three groups also showed significant negative side effects. Subjects showed an increased resistance to insulin, putting them at higher risk for early onset diabetes. They also showed an increase in body fat with specific increases deep within the abdomen around the organs. It may seem trivial to include this specific bit of information.

Fat is Fat…Right?

One of the fascinating developments in our understanding of chronic disease is that the anatomical distribution of fat matters. To sum up a still developing story, fat distributed in the abdomen around the organs (visceral fat) is much more dangerous than fat just below the skin (subcutaneous fat).6 Thus, two people with the same amount of body fat may have very different health risks based on where their fat is stored. In short, excess body fat is a risk factor for disease, but if that fat is distributed in the visceral region, it confers an additional independent risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, certain cancers, high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol.6
More disturbingly, researchers hypothesized that their study “likely underestimates longer-term treatment effects” because these negative changes are often progressive over the first year of treatment. For those of you who don’t like math, what they’re saying is that they only looked at the score in the first quarter, not at the end of the game. The real long-term risks of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, are probably much greater than those detailed in this short three month study. Further, children are “physically and emotionally more vulnerable to the adverse effects (of antipsychotic drugs) because of their smaller size, developing physiology, and negative impact on peer perceptions.2 To answer our previous question, children are not more resilient to the adverse effects of antipsychotic drugs, they are more susceptible.
Although alarming, these results are not particularly shocking. They confirm that what is bad for adults is also bad for youth…actually worse.

Why are These Drugs Given to Children in the First Place?

In the pediatric population, the majority of antipsychotic drugs are actually not given to treat psychosis, as the name implies. Surprisingly, they are generally prescribed to treat behavioral disorders. For example, only 2.8% of the subjects in this study actually had symptoms consistent with psychosis (some further percentage of whom were likely already treated with a stimulant known to induce psychosis). The remaining 97.2% had behavioral symptoms deemed unacceptable by school, family, or both.
Use of antipsychotic drugs in this manner is largely not approved by the FDA due to “insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy.” 2 So why is there a growing trend to prescribe them when they are not approved by the FDA and studies are mounting showing severe negative side effects?

Do We Really Practice Evidence Based Medicine?

Robert Whitaker, a medical journalist and author, writes that the field of psychiatry is experiencing an institutionalized form of cognitive dissonance – a conflicted psychological state that occurs when new information challenges deeply held beliefs. In the context of this article, long held beliefs about the safety and efficacy of antipsychotic drugs are being challenged by new data showing their dangerous side effects and overall ineffectiveness. In general, people resolve this conflicted state “by sifting through information in ways that protect their self-esteem and their financial interests.” 7
Psychiatry, as an institution, is doing just that. Sifting through data to suit their needs. Research that shows psychiatric drugs in a negative light often gets swept under the rug as being biased, of poor quality or otherwise uninformed. There is little acceptance for anything that goes against that status quo. The goal is no longer to seek for better treatment protocols, but to protect the power, prestige and financial interests of the psychiatric institution. Unfortunately, in this state, evidence based medicine cannot be practiced.
As Upton Sinclair famously stated, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” 8

The War on Human Consciousness ~ Rachel Horton White

The War on Human Consciousness.

By Rachel Horton White,

Guest writer for Wake Up World.

May 31st, 2019.

There is a war out there against the expansion of human consciousness. It has been escalating in recent years to the point where we must protect ourselves from the onslaught of this intervening frequency trying to turn us into stressed-out, sick automatons.
This is the same low-vibration energy that is responsible for the ravaging and disregard of the Earth herself along with all the plants and animals; responsible for the profit-driven, billion-dollar business of war and for the overly-medicated, misdiagnosed children raised on screens; responsible  for the greediness of the pharmaceutical industry “treating” illnesses that often make us even sicker – and obviously, responsible for the insanity that seems to run the U.S. government.
And most recently, the proposed 5G technology for cell phones is really the icing on the cake.

Awakening to Truth

Many of us wonder if we will ever feel better, if the Earth will ever heal. There are scares about climate change, about mass extinction of entire species and about the future of humanity itself.
But the greatest danger to the human race is our own unwillingness to pull the blinders off of our eyes. Smartphones have taken over many people’s consciousness to the point where they are numbing themselves to their loved ones and to their own souls. Our addiction to the news and to sources we think are telling us the truth have turned friends and family against each other just because they voted for a certain person for President.
It’s not fun to wake up to the fact that many of these institutions are harming us (although, as with everything, there are both good and bad elements in all). And many of us are still in denial about this, refusing to accept the enormity of the lies that we have been fed.
It’s too upsetting to believe so we try to go back into our shells and pretend it’s not real. But eventually we wake up to the Matrix (this movie, like many, has a message for us) and realize we are living in a version of the Truman Show.

Shifting Energies

Fortunately,  the energies are shifting to shake us out of our slumber. More and more people are experiencing spiritual awakening (are you seeing 11:11 everywhere? That’s a clear sign that you’re awakening. If not… you will – and this meditation might help).
Often, change does not occur until it is forced, or until it gets more difficult to avoid. It’s going to get harder and harder to avoid flowing with these new, expansive energies.
We have reached a point when people can choose the path of love, healing, forgiveness, kindness and freedom. It is a path that requires great courage, risk and overcoming fear. The alternative is the path of being afraid, of going along with the crowd and of making choices based on worry about worst-case scenario. We have free will as human souls. We can choose love, or we can choose fear. Often we choose a mixture of both.
Faced with so many choices, it’s natural to feel so overwhelmed that we do nothing. But it is this collective apathy that has led us to the state that we are in today.

Defeating Overwhelm: Start with One Small Thing

What do you care about? What one small thing can you do to make a positive change in the world today?
In the past, when I saw something that bothered me, I would have complained to someone, but then probably forgotten about it.
Let me give you an example. Recently, after visiting a local farm and dairy product company that claims to be free-range, we were dismayed to see that the cows were not free-range at all. My kids told me they did not want to go back there “until the cows’ chains were off their necks.”
Before, I would have felt that I could not really do anything to change the situation. But that excuse does not work for me anymore. I can no longer watch from the sidelines. And my children remind me of this.
So, one small thing. I emailed the company management and wrote a review of them, but they said they would do nothing. So I wrote a letter to the editor of our local newspaper (which was published). The next step, if needed, will be to contact the suppliers and restaurants to let them know about the problem so they can refuse to buy from this company if need be.
Humans for years have unconsciously eaten animals that have suffered or bought products that put chemicals in our bodies or on our lawnsThe power of the consumer to put the pressure on companies to do better with what we buy or do not buy cannot be underestimated.
What’s your one small thing, that you can do now, today, to make a difference?

Activate to Evolve

We are awakening to the truth of what has been done to us in our lives. It’s not our fault. Mostly. But we now know. So it’s up to us to now do something about it. This is our time to activate. Each and every one of us.
The solutions are simple when broken down. Here are 7 things that work for me and may also help you:
  • Quiet your mind every day. At least for 5 minutes, ideally for 15-20 minutes.
  • Connect with something beyond yourself – something based in light and love.
  • Put your phone down when you can. Just try it. Wait 5 seconds before picking it up next time. Ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?” and see if it feels good to you.
  • Get out in nature for no particular reason or purpose other than just to wander, explore and observe.
  • Connect with other people, in person if possible. Ask for Spirit to guide you to people that can lift you up and support you.
  • Do something to help the world. “Think globally, act locally.” Pick one cause you care about and take five minutes to do something – more than just signing a petition online. Make a phone call, write a letter to the editor, show up at a rally.
  • Think about what you buy, eat and put on your body and in your home and make a statement with your wallet. If it has chemicals in it, is made of an animal that has suffered, or is rooted in perpetuating harm to the Earth in some way, you may want to pause and really ask yourself if it’s worth it.
Consumers will ultimately revolutionize our world. When we refuse to give our money to companies that destroy the Earth and its beings, they will either change their ways or cease to exist.
We are now being asked to choose. The turning point has been reached. We are being asked to have courage. We are being asked to heal ourselves and find light in our hearts. Not everyone will answer this call. They may experience life in a completely different way than you do.  But the time has come for us to activate, to speak up for justice, to advocate for causes we believe in, and to help ourselves and others by connecting with our souls and with light all around us to help us do this.
I do believe there is a lot of hope for change, as more people are choosing the path of expansion, freedom and love. And there are positive changes being made in some areas of government, companies, education and even the health care system. But more of us are needed to speak up from a place of love, compassion and forgiveness (even for those responsible for the suffering). The time is now for us to decide.
I believe that nature will eventually recover. Whether or not humans choose to do so is another story.
What will you choose?

Transcending the Illusion of Light Versus Dark ~ Jeff Street

Transcending the Illusion of Light Versus Dark ~ Jeff Street

Transcending the Illusion of Light Versus Dark By Jeff Street, *Wake Up World*May 29, 2018 Originally published at Divine Cosmos and reproduced here with permission.

A belief that seems to be prevalent in many spiritual circles is that the ascension of humanity involves some sort of battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness — a battle between good and evil. Associated with this belief is the idea that we (the so-called awakened and enlightened ones) must defeat those of the darkness to successfully co-create a new earth. If you haven’t been drawn into this us-ag... more »
