(ANTIMEDIA) On Friday evening, U.S. President-elect Mike Pence attended the Broadway hit “Hamilton,” and corporate media has not shut up about it since. After actors in the play “humiliated” Pence by asking him to equally respect everyone’s rights, Trump responded on Twitter by saying the theater should be a “safe and special place” and demanded an apology.Meanwhile, the world kept spinning, and as usual, the mainstream media conveniently overlooked actual news that affects the world because they were too busy distracting us all with their political TMZ-style “reporting.”

167 Protesters Injured by Police In Overnight Battle at Standing Rock:
Activists at the scene reported on Twitter that police were spraying protesters with water in sub-freezing temperatures and firing rubber bullets, injuring some in the crowd. A total of 167 demonstrators were injured, according to a medic on site, as cited by Indigenous Rising Media. The police were reportedly targeting demonstrators’ heads and legs. Seven people have been hospitalized for severe head injuries. In an embarrassing bit of timing, as US officials were railing against the Syrian military for targeting civilians at the UN, US warplanes were attacking a cotton mill in northeastern Syria, an attack that killed at least 10 civilians.
It is unclear why the cotton mill, in the village of Salhiyeh, was targeted in the first place, but it is north of the ISIS capital city of Raqqa, which Kurdish YPG forces are in the process of surrounding.
