‘I Hate People’: Why You Feel This Way and How to Cope.

‘I Hate People’:

Why You Feel This Way and How to Cope.

I have been guilty of saying “I hate people”, but I really don’t. There’s much more to my emotions, and I wish to think positively.

Even the most friendly and extroverted person may say they hate people, but they don’t really mean it because, after all, they usually like people more than some of the rest of us. To be honest, I think we’ve all let this slip out a time or two.

People stuck on the negativity

Then there are others who proclaim their hate more often too, and there are a few reasons they do this. Sometimes hate springs from frustration, fear, and even when you see someone who thinks or looks different from you.

This sort of hate can get stuck inside and change you. There’s another important factor as well. If you start off hating someone, the more negative things you do, the more you will hate them. So how can we cope with these intense feelings?
Coping with the “I hate people” mindset

1. Recognize your true feelings

You may not think you’re guilty of hating people just because you mouth it a couple of times, but you really do carry a bit of strong distaste. Words have more power than you think. In order to cope with hatred toward others, you must first acknowledge that you say these things and sometimes even genuinely feel this way.

It was hard for me to realize what I was saying and feeling, and I always used the excuse, saying, “I just don’t like them, and it’s not the same as hate”, but I came to realize that I did have hatred in my heart. And so, I had to accept it before I could successfully cope with it.

2. Mindfulness exercises

Another way of coping with hatred toward others is by practicing mindfulness. Similar to meditation, mindfulness places you in the present time and coaxes you to think about what’s going on now.

The first thing you will want to do is wish good thoughts on yourself. Then wish kindness and happiness to friends and family, which is pretty easy to do. After that, wish good things for neutral people, those who really have little impact on your life in general.

Then, in a harder act of concentration, wish the same happiness on those who you do not like. When you practice this last one, you may feel the tension in your body. This is when you take deep breaths and try to relax. Then, wish happiness on everyone else in existence. Practice this often to help soften your hatred.

3. Let it go, let it go

No, I’m not about to sing that Disney song, but you do need to use a certain pattern to let hateful feelings go, like… letting it go. So, try this way of coping:

When you see someone you really don’t like, or even that someone you secretly hate, go ahead, for just one moment and let yourself feel it. Then imagine that dark feeling passing from your mind, down your neck, through your body and down to your feet. Imagine it soaking into the ground beneath you. Then calmly move from the place you were standing.

As you do this, it will distract you from the hatred you’re feeling and calm you enough to deal with them.

4. Grow up

Sometimes you hate people because they have different opinions than you, and that’s it! That is literally the only reason you hate them. I know it may seem petty, and truthfully, it is. Different folks have different standards and they despise each other in many cases.

One way to stop hating people is by accepting that they have an opinion of their own, an opinion that is their right, and your opinion could see just as silly or infuriating to them. So being mature enough to accept differences and move on is one good way to stop hating people.

5. Go ahead now, get to that root

If you’re actually hating on a number of people, group of people, or just everyone, that’s not natural. You weren’t born hating everyone. There is a root to that hatred.

In fact, you could have started hating one particular person, and the feelings spread due to the hurt they caused. Then it spread further until there really wasn’t anyone you did like. The good news is, you can reverse this hatred by tracing it back to its origin. Then start working on healing from there.

6. Recognize why hate is wrong

There are more reasons why hate is wrong than right. For one, hate is never included in anything if you are spiritual because you cannot hate your spiritual brother or sister or you hate yourself.

You see, some believe we are all one, and in ways, we are. It’s also just not fair to hate someone. We all have problems and show really unattractive sides to our personalities sometimes. We want to be forgiven, and we want a second chance to be liked, and so would you. There is never a good reason to hate, but there is always a good reason to love. Recognize this and work on it a bit at a time.

Never say “I hate people” again

Yes, I mean it. Never say those toxic words again. They can do no good and really make you feel bad about yourself later on. Those words have the power to make you feel sick both physically and mentally. So, try, really hard, to practice love instead of hate. I promise it brings a much better reward.

So, do you really hate people? I don’t think so.

The Universe is gently reminding you to step back at look at the infinite picture.

Perspective is and will be very important in the coming weeks/months.

Even though you may not fully understand its implications, it affects every part of your life.

Coming from a place of fear generates a world where everything is dangerous, scary and out of control.

Coming from a place of love will generate peace, joy and a natural order.

You have always been given a choice to shape your world as you see fit, darling one.

What are you choosing today?

5 Benefits of Slow Thinking, According to Science

5 Benefits of Slow Thinking, According to Science

Lottie Miles.

Benefits of Slow Thinking.

In a world where everything inexorably requires us to speed up, most people’s intuition tells them that being faster is better. However, according to research, our intuition may not always be as good as we think it is. Moreover, thinking slow may have several benefits over fast thinking in a variety of settings.

In this post, we will outline the debates about slow vs fast thinking and 5 benefits of slow thinking, according to science.

Fast Thinking Vs Slow Thinking

People often associate thinking fast with intelligence, strength, and being funny. In this vein, Malcolm Gladwell’s interesting book ‘Blink’ champions thinking without thinking.

Gladwell argues that intuition is the result of meaningful work undertaken by individuals and is more like intelligent design than some magical property from within. This understanding leads Gladwell to argue that spontaneous decisions are good or sometimes even better than decisions we carefully plan. However, this position fails to recognize the value of slow thinking.

In the book ‘Thinking Fast and Slow’, Kahneman argues that the human mind is made up of two systems. The first relies on fast, instinctive, and emotional action. This system is linked to our survival instincts, helping us to quickly respond to danger. The second relies more on logic, deliberative thought, conscious effort, and taking time – or being slow.

When we do difficult Math, we are usually forced into using this second system. As such, these systems can both be beneficial at times. However, they can also come into conflict. If we let system 1 dominate too much, then we will miss out on the potential benefits of thinking slow.

5 benefits of slow thinking, according to science

Here, we outline 5 ways that slowing down your thinking can be beneficial for you and society at large.

Improved mental health & emotional control

Studies like “The Rediscovery of Slowness: Exploring the Timing of Cognition” have shown that the ability to use slow thinking processes can be characteristic of a healthy brain. They also found that an inability to adaptively regulate emotional responses to challenging situations was a common trait in numerous forms of psychopathology.

Similarly, a 2015 study found that thinking slowly could be beneficial in cases of psychosis. When patients were supported to slow down their thinking processes and recognize fast thoughts, they were able to bring down levels of paranoia.

Reduce Stress

In the world today, our fast-paced lives can lead us to feel like we never have enough time to do anything. This naturally arouses our sympathetic nervous system, the part of our autonomic nervous system that puts us into fight or flight mode, heightening our stress levels.

On the other side of our autonomic nervous system is the parasympathetic nervous system. This helps us to produce calm and relaxed states. Thinks like mindfulness seek to activate this system by using techniques drawing on our slow thinking systems. Check out our article about relaxation techniques for coping with negativity, anxiety and stress that will help you to benefit from slow thinking.

Prevent biased thinking

Slow thinking allows us to recognize when our thoughts and feelings may be being directed by automatic responses. It also helps us to recognize how this might be causing us to react in certain ways.

The situation could be feeling that you have been ignored, spoken over, or pretty much anything. This could make us feel angry or jump to assumptions about why this happened. If you find yourself in such a situation, try taking a step back and imagining yourself outside the situation you are personally in. Try to reason through why it might have happened. Then, reflect on this before acting.

By imagining yourself outside of a situation, you make it possible to see different perspectives and improve objectivity. You will likely find your initial response quickly dampens in extremity by taking this time and considering more ‘data’. This helps to avoid confirmation biases affecting your decisions. Cognitive reappraisal like this is also beneficial for mental well-being.

Make better decisions

Thinking slowly can help you master the art of decision making. A classic example of slow thinking fostering better decisions is demonstrated by something called the Cognitive Reflection Test. Based on 3 questions, this test is designed to temp human intuition into answering incorrectly.

In a study of 3,428 people, 83% answered at least one question, with 33% answering all 3 incorrectly. The test serves to highlight that intuition is not always as good as you think it is. Understanding this can help people realize that spending more time on decisions can enable them to take different actions with improved results.

Studies have also shown that slow thinking can help people make better decisions that are noticeable at the macro level. For example, a McKinsey Quarterly report found that leaders of business will be more successful in their investments and strategic efforts by thinking slowly.

Improve Research

There has long been growing pressure in academia to produce fast results, with a heavy focus on the number of publications. This outweighs considerations of quality-driven research done at a slow and methodical pace.

Studies have shown that this has actually led to reduced quality in research and increased mistakes. Indeed, Lakens & Evers’ 2014 study found statistical evidence that more productive researchers, measure by publication output, produce the least reliable research with less statistically significant results.

Final Thoughts

The benefits of slow thinking should not mean that we seek to banish swiftness from all of our actions. Both thinking fast and thinking slow have important benefits for our mental health and well being. However, taking the time to slow down our thinking is vital in our fast-paced world. It helps us to recognize our emotions, make improved decisions, and ultimately leads to better mental health.

The Impact of Fear: (1) Physical Health: It weakens the immune system and can cause cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, and decreased fertility. It can lead to accelerated aging and even premature death. (2) Memory: It can impair the formation of long-term memories and cause damage to certain parts of the brain. (3) It can interrupt processes in the brain that regulate your emotions, allow you to reflect before acting, and act ethically. (4) Mental Health: It can cause fatigue, clinical depression, and PTSD.

Thought Adjuster: “You can grasp by personal experience that fear is a massive stressor with many unpleasant repercussions. Life on your world seems to shape up as relentless warfare where human souls are called to cope with frequent episodes of inner devastation and turmoil that trigger disorders of chronic fear.

“Faith is at the Antipode of fear, and therefore, most qualified to turn things around. Research has shown a connection between spirituality and entertaining positive beliefs. Meditation and prayer yield a sense of comfort and inner strength and may promote healing.

“When the going gets rough, learn to quickly override the impulsive takeover by fears and to switch to a full-fledged ‘faith-mode.’ Instead of dwelling on the worst-case scenarios, envision positive outcomes. Hasn’t the Divine Hand that guides your destiny helped you through many seemingly unsurmountable life predicaments?
“Faith acts as the reserve tank of your soul, providing you with enough premium fuel to make it to the next rest stop. Have faith in the power of faith! Investigate it, ponder it, and ask Me to provide you with practical tools to fully activate it in your life. It will lift you above the molehills of the daily drudgery, and you will then realize from your more enlightened bird-eye-view that you were making mountains out of molehills.

FuBEAR! Stocks Crash into Bear Market Faster than 1929!

FuBEAR!

Stocks Crash into Bear Market Faster than 1929!

By David Haggith.

Posted March 12, 2020 by Edward Morgan.

.

The bear roared today, ripping the ears off everyone, as the Dow and Russel 2000 both landed more than 20% below their last peak. Their 19-session rampage landed a record as the, steepest, fastest downhill bear run in the history of the US stock market.
The market’s waterfall run over the cliffs now looks like El Capitan.
Of course, the rise of the bear also means the “longest bull in history” just died today, and it died in spite of the Federal Reserve’s most heroic efforts to turn up the bulls life support by any means.
Linda Zhang, CEO at Purview Investments, gave the bull’s eulogy in the late afternoon:
This bull market will go down in history as the one that nobody believed would last this long. A lot of people have been hurt because their retirement money disappeared…. What brought us to where we are in 2020 is too much hope, sky-high valuations.
As if to underscore everything I wrote in my latest Patron Posts about how impotent the Fed has become, the bull died today just as the Fed cranked up the voltage on its repo-QE defibrillator for the second time in just one week. On Monday, I noted how the bull dropped to its knees when the Fed administered a double dose of its interest cuts the week before and how it fell to its side on Monday when the Fed increased its historically massive overnight repo operations by 50% from $100 billion to $150 billion. (See, “Dow Crashes 2,000 Points in Record Day! The Bear is at the Door.“) Well today, the Fed cranked the voltage of its overnight repos to $175 billion to try to stabilize the bull fibrillating heart, and bull died completely. Fed medics also offered two epinephrine shots totaling $95 billion in term repos today, but the bull didn’t stir. The “longest-lived” bull in history was pronounced dead at 4PM eastern daylight time today.
To quote the chief market strategist at Prudential, who summarized the bulls death on the scene:
Did I see it coming this far? No. Throughout the past 11 years, the market has had a lot of dips, and always the Federal Reserve came to the rescue…. Right now, the Fed is not enough, central bank action is not enough. There is a pyramid of uncertainty right now.
If you think the Fed didn’t go above and beyond in its resuscitation efforts, look at how the Fed’s latest emergency liquidity doses dwarf the emergency repo operations that happened all through last fall (those temporary epipen cash injections that I said would become permanent):
They make previous emergency Fed funding look like yesteryear’s skyscrapers compared to Dubai. (And speaking of Dubai, oil fell off a pricing cliff again today, too.) How much greater proof can there be that the Fed is dead. (Well, it will find new medicine, but let’s just say it’s old ammo ain’t hunting’ bear no more. That’s for sure. As David Stockman has been saying, the Fed is clearly out of dry powder.) The Law of Diminishing Returns hit full force right when I said it would — when the Fed, after tightening until it strangled its “recovery,” tried to go back to easing to save it again.
As I said years ago, when this day of moving back to easing finally came, we’d find that the Fed’s old tricks actually have a reverse (negative) effect at this point. Too much epinephrine kills the bull. Over the past ten days, we saw that every time the Fed tried to revive its dependent market. To put it from the bear’s perspective, instead of the dead bull’s, that’s what happens when you go bear hunting with a BB gun and shoot the bear in the eyeball. All you do is make him mad, and that’s about all the Fed’s old ammo now amounts to is a BB gun.
In giving the bull a postmortem, market morticians did not turn as readily to the coronavirus diagnosis as I thought. (But don’t worry, politicians and the Fed will.) These forensic scientists were pretty to-the-point in putting the blame at the Fed’s feet.
Coroner Dean Curnutt, CEO of Macro Risk Advisors, summarized the findings,
“We got here because of unusual, potentially unprecedented circumstances [coronavirus] and because a strongly held consensus baked into market prices has been shattered.… The sharpness of this adjustment, then, is the result of the collision of crowded trades implemented during exceptionally quiet times with a bona-fide turning point in the business cycle.”
Those quiet times were a Fed-induced low-volatility coma. One of the Fed’s former priests, former Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher, spoke with rare candor about the bull’s Fed-induced coma over the aging bull earlier this week as he administered its last rites, laying the blame squarely on his own institution:
Does The Fed really want to have a put every time the market gets nervous? …Coming off all-time highs, does it make sense for The Fed to bail the markets out every single time… creating a trap?
The Fed has created this dependency and there’s an entire generation of money-managers who … have only seen a one-way street… of course they’re nervous.
The question is – do you want to feed that hunger? Keep applying that opioid of cheap and abundant money?
The market is dependent on Fed largesse… and we made it that way…
Perhaps it can be said that the Bull grew fat on FedFood and died of an overdose of FedMed intended to save its heart from myocardial infarction due to morbid obesity. The induction into the anesthetized state spoken of above was administered via stock buybacks, which for years were in large part made possible by cheap Fed-sponsored credit. As I warned some time ago, corporations were becoming over indebted. Their bond issuances were increasingly being rated junk or near junk. Therefore, I said, buybacks would be dwindling in the latter part of 2918 and throughout 2019 because the issuance of cheap credit was reaching its limit as was the one-time benefit of foreign profit repatriation at lower tax rates (the other main supply).
Now we can see how that likely played a part in the bulls death just. Buybacks hit a low just as the bull turned eleven and died:
Corporations did try ramping up buybacks at the start of the coronavirus in a last-ditch effort to save their bullish butts, but they quickly ran out of cash and credit as credit rates on high yield bonds began to soar right when they needed new hits the most. Of course, this is what you get when you use up all your cash and credit in purportedly good times buying up your stock because the times really weren’t so good, and you were covering for a lack of earnings. Had the money for foreign-profit repatriation not been spent on buybacks, corporations would now have plenty of money to see themselves through these tight times; but if you spend your cash hoard like a prodigal when the times are supposedly good, you have no cushion when times turn bad.
Looking ahead: In the aftermath of the bull’s death, Zero Hedge has reported that US financial conditions are now rated by Bloomberg as the worst since Lehman Brothers:
Bloomberg
And we’re just getting started!
It seems neither bankers nor their pocket politicians can keep this bear from roaring. This evening, thanks to Trump’s stock-stimulus speech about killing all flights between Europe and the US while raising the national debt at a fever pitch with additional tax cuts and additional spending, Dow futures dove more than another thousand points in response! Oops. The Nasdaq and S&P also plunged 4.5%, basically resting on their down limit. That decline, if it holds tomorrow, will finish the fall of both of those major indices into bear territory, too, completing the market’s transformation. Futures were lumbering slowly downhill before the speech, but the bear — awakened out of winter hibernation — really roared right after.
Trump’s own stock market! Now that’s just, shall we say to be nice, “Fouled Up BEyond All Recognition.”

Our process of transformation and growth is currently accelerating at a much greater pace. The intensity of this time is radically quickening our healing to create deep and lasting change and transformation. We are being shown the way to creating a safer, less destructive and more sustainable world. At the same time, we must release the old so that a new direction may be firmly established.

As you venture forth from the past clarity will emerge revealing a variety of truths and thus a variety of choices. As a result, unexpected changes on your life path will occur. It is important now that you make time to tune into the changing frequencies of your own energy. Anything that is blocking and or disrupting the flow of your soul’s essence must be released and cleared. Allow yourself to acknowledge the fear and anxiety that arises as you face what is blocking you but do not allow it consume you. Find your equilibrium as you seek the answers that lie deeply buried within your consciousness. Focus your attention and your thoughts, use your intuition and learn to follow your soul.

Coronavirus: Let's rise to it

Coronavirus:

Let's rise to it.

March 13, 2020

Dear Avaazers,

Something big is about to happen to humanity, much more than just a flu.

The WHO just declared coronavirus a pandemic, which means many of us could get it -- and although most will be fine, for the more vulnerable it could mean the difference between life and death. We all have someone we love who could be facing this.

Our mission now is to mobilise to SLOW it down, because the slower it moves, the more our hospitals can cope, and the more lives will be saved.

With our countries facing shutdowns like Italy and China, humanity is about to face serious adversity - and that can either split us apart in fear, or unite us in common purpose and love. Our movement can help shape what happens next.

Sign the pledge to help slow the virus down, and share it with everyone you know -- if we reach 100 million people in the next week, we can help save countless lives:

THE PEOPLE'S PLEDGE

We pledge to help bring humanity together in a common purpose to help slow the spread of this virus enough to allow hospitals to cope and a vaccine to be developed, and to strive to ensure that this crisis brings out the best in us. To each do our part, we pledge to:

🏠 STOP THE VIRUS at our doorstep -- by washing our hands regularly, avoiding unnecessary close contact with others, staying home when we feel unwell and seeking medical advice early.

👵 PROTECT THE VULNERABLE - by offering love and assistance to those who need it most, and supporting humane policies to keep them safe.

💬 SPREAD WISDOM - by sharing reliable, factual information with friends and family, and countering voices of fear and demonization with love and connection.

We know the actions we all take collectively will make a HUGE difference to how quickly this virus spreads, and just how deadly it will be.

In South Korea, a country that was hit really hard early on, people came together with a common purpose -- they stopped attending large gatherings, stayed home when they felt sick, and got tested early. People even stood outside subways in costumes reminding others to wash their hands! And it’s working -- the country’s seen a slowing down in new cases and low mortality rates.

But this isn’t just about containing the virus. If we all commit to protecting the most vulnerable and spreading wisdom during this crisis, we can come out of it stronger and more connected than ever before. We’re already seeing remarkable stories of hope and leadership -- from the citizens in Wuhan handing out emergency supplies to those on the frontline, to brave doctors risking their lives every day to save those of others.

Now it’s our time to rise!

So, sign the pledge now, and let’s come together to help flatten the curve of the epidemic, and bring humanity together like never before:

This crisis will mean that for one of the few times in human history many of us will have to stay home. Such social isolation could be the perfect breeding ground for fear and hatred to take hold of us. Or, if we choose to meet this adversity with love and determination, we could make it an unprecedented moment for humanity to come together as one. To care for each other, to be there for each other. We now have a common purpose, a common cause. Let's rise to it.

With hope,
