Big Pharma bust: Largest opioid arrest in U.S. history ensnares dozens of physicians, pharmacists who created addicts ~ JD Heyes.

Big Pharma bust:

Largest opioid arrest in U.S. history ensnares dozens of physicians, pharmacists who created addicts.

In yet another sign that our healthcare system is fraught with problems that Democrats have made worse and not enough Republicans see fit to address, federal prosecutors have charged dozens of pharmacists and doctors in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Alabama for illegally distributing opioids — even as an opioid epidemic sweeps the country.
According to the  Cincinnati Inquirer, prosecutors have charged 60 pharmacists and physicians of “trading drugs for sex, giving prescriptions to Facebook friends without proper medical exams, and unnecessarily pulling teeth to justify writing pain pill prescriptions.”
Most of the medical professionals named by prosecutors are being charged with “unlawful distribution of controlled substances involving prescription opioids.”
As further noted by Breitbart News:
And while prosecutors say the methods employed were many and varied, all resulted in the distribution of 32 million opioid pills — by way of over 350,000 improper prescriptions — to addicts.
“If so-called medical professionals are going to behave like drug dealers, we’re going to treat them like drug dealers,” said Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski.
The arrests followed a lengthy investigation by the Appalachian Regional Prescription Strike Force, which is comprised of some 300 investigators and law enforcement personnel from the five states where arrests were made.
However, the busts won’t bring much relief to the addicted patients who were essentially strung out on the highly lethal painkillers. Still, per Benjamin Glassman, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, one of the duties of the task force is to get help for those who are addicted to opioids and are suffering because of it.
According to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “drug overdoses have dramatically increased over the last two decades, with deaths increasing more than four times between 1999 and 2017.”

The arrests took place in the biggest havens for opioid abuse and ODs

Some 70,000 Americans died in 2017 alone from drug overdoses, which made them the leading cause of injury-related death in the U.S. Of those, 68 percent involved an illicit opioid or one given by prescription. “Adults between the ages of 25 and 54 years old have the highest rates of opioid overdose deaths,” the CDC said.
Further, the National Institute on Drug Abuse notes that roughly 130 Americans per day die as a result of opioid OD, and that the epidemic is costing taxpayers and private insurers in excess of $78 billion per year. (Related: FDA approves portable device to reverse opioid overdose, can be used by family members and caregivers.)
Congress and the Trump administration are working to curb opioid OD deaths, the CDC noted:
In FY 2019, CDC received $475 million for opioid overdose prevention and surveillance activities with the majority of these funds supporting state-based prevention efforts.
As for the Appalachia strike force, Glassman said that “when these facilities are taken down, there are resources in place to give the best possible chance for those victims to get proper treatment.
“Opioids are the public health and safety crisis of our lifetime. This innovation, I hope, will be a road map for the future,” he added.
What makes these arrests more compelling — and horrific at the same time — is that the opioid epidemic is worse in the Appalachian region. According to the American Addition Centers, citing CDC statistics, four of the five states involved in the bust are among the 10 ten states with the highest number of opioid overdoses (in order): West Virginia (1); Kentucky (3); Ohio (4); and Tennessee (10). Alabama. According to a CDC data map, opioid overdoses rose 11.1 percent between 2016-17 in these areas, and are listed as “statistically significant” in terms of overall deaths.
“States with statistically significant increases in drug overdose death rates from 2016 to 2017 included Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin,” the CDC said.

Blending Self-Improvement with Zen ~ Wes Annac

Blending Self-Improvement with Zen.

By Wes Annac, Openhearted Rebellion.

May 2, 2019.

.

To me, spirituality is more than a fad or a way to appear wiser than I really am. I use it as inspiration to improve myself.
Some teachers say that trying to change yourself at all is misguided and pointless. They believe that spirituality – Zen in particular – is about accepting who you are and letting go of all ambition to be something else.
For many, spirituality is a haven from the grind of daily life. It doesn’t encourage them to confront their struggles, but rather, let go. They believe that letting go of all desire, ambition, and struggle is the only way to achieve a proper meditative state. Self-improvement doesn’t matter if this life is an illusion we must wake up from.
I disagree; spirituality and self-improvement blend well for many people. Some of us need a philosophy that discourages stagnation, pushes us to be better, and keeps us from negative thoughts that might otherwise consume us.

When I write, meditate, or attempt to exercise, I’m far away from those negative thoughts and habits. Living this way removes my focus from the toxic stuff and lets me put my energy into things that matter. I’ve combined meditation with discipline and hard work to craft a productive life I can enjoy.
Spirituality has helped me understand the value of working hard and staying active. I never used to strive for much because it was easier not to try. That changed when I discovered meditation. I’m still far from the most disciplined person on the planet, but now, I have goals and the motivation to try harder.
Researching meditation led me to learn about the brain’s reward system, which is responsible for our experience of pleasure. This system rewards accomplishment with a feeling of blissful satisfaction.

It turns out that the brain is wired to seek reward through struggle. That’s why it feels so good to finish a difficult task. On some level, your mind and body crave that challenge. The problem is that for many, the craving to sit on the couch and watch TV is stronger.
To a spiritual seeker, meditating and trying to crack the secrets of the universe is more appetizing than creating something or breaking a sweat in the hot sun. Some of them would laugh at the thought of hard work because to them, it’s irrelevant.
I understand why they think this way, but I think discipline and hard work have an important role to play on the spiritual path. I borrow from ideologies that promote stillness as well as discipline. I push myself to achieve but also make time for meditation.

This path is a work in progress, and I work at it every day in hopes of improving little by little. Some days are better than others, but for the most part, I’m dedicated. Since I enjoy what I do, working at it is not so bad. Pushing myself to improve is part of the fun.
If you consider yourself spiritual, remember that it’s healthy to do strenuous things that help you grow as a person. We should accept ourselves as we are, but we should also be unafraid to evolve. This is one of many paradoxes that come with living in a universe nobody truly understands.

A Vision for Teachers ~ Alignment Project

A Vision for Teachers.

The Vision Alignment Project

Our Vision for today was sent in by Helen Plourde-McSweeny. Thank You, Helen!

School teachers free themselves and choose, when the choice arises, to forfeit their clerical expectations (seemingly endless documentation and form-filling), dive in to their subject, immerse themselves in the joy of reading their student's work and get on with doing what they do and being who they are instead of creating documents about it.

They boldly dedicate themselves to focusing on their calling, spending wild nights searching for the perfect song of the day, the fitting poem on the topic, the most beautiful landscape, range, or waterway in the world to demonstrate geographic vocabulary, and preparing the questions that guide their students to discovering the answers. They jump out of their virtual computerized, electronically posted, power-pointed approach and connect with the living souls they have the pleasure ofbeing near. It is a joyful day for teachers! They spend their free time being free to passionately explore the subject that called them to share it. They can teach again!

If this vision was sent to you from a friend, you can go to www.visionalignmentproject.com to sign up free for The Vision Alignment Project.

The Vision Alignment Project is sponsored by The Intenders of the Highest Good. If you have a Vision you would like to share with the world, please email it to [office@intenders.com]. Your Vision may be published here!

25 Aesthetic Words Every Book Lover Will Appreciate ~ Kirstie Pursey

25 Aesthetic Words Every Book Lover Will Appreciate.

By Kirstie Pursey

May 2nd, 2019.

The English language is full of beautiful sounding words that are a delight to hear. How many of these aesthetic words do you know?

Some of the most beautiful words in the English language conjure up a sense of something magical. Finding the perfect aesthetic words for a sensation or feeling is a joy.
Sometimes even when you are feeling sad, finding the exact words to describe your emotions can make it seem just a little better.
If you love books, and especially if you love to write, you may find these following words inspire you to use the English language to its fullest.
Rather than just saying you are sad, perhaps you would describe yourself as melancholy, nostalgic, mournful or heartbroken. Or perhaps your happiness is more like contentment, delight or ecstasy.
Some of my favourite words describe feelings that are hard to describe in any other way. And of course, some words just sound so beautiful they are a joy to say.
Amazingly, there are more than a million words in the English language. Many of them are beautiful in some way. Perhaps it is the way they sound, the way they look when written on a page, or because the meaning is so precise and perfect.
Words, of course, are not meant to be considered in isolation. Together they can make up sentences and utterances and become poems, stories, songs and essays. However, finding the perfect words will enhance your language for whatever you want to communicate, it is a chat with a friend or an epic poem.
If you are looking for some inspiration, take a look at these 25 of my favourite aesthetic words.

Aesthetic words for happy emotions

Sometimes we feel like words can’t describe how happy we feel. But if you look closely at the English language, you are bound to find a word that perfectly describes your feeling of joy.

1. Euphoria

A feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness.

2. Bliss

A state of supreme happiness, utter joy or contentment.

3. Halcyon

Happy, joyful and carefree.

4. Serendipity

The chance occurrence of events in a beneficial way.

Beautiful words for sad emotions

The English language also has the perfect word for our sad emotions. If you are feeling blue, but just can’t quite put your finger on how you are feeling, you may find the following words describe your emotions perfectly. Plus they have the bonus of being some of the most beautiful sounding words in the English language.

5. Crestfallen

Dejected, dispirited or discouraged.

6. Woebegone

Sorrowful and downcast.

7. Wistful

Full of yearning or desire tinged with melancholy.

Aesthetic words that describe the world

We live in such a wonderful world that sometimes it is hard to put into words how to describe it. I was surprised that there are so many words that describe specific things about the world, times of the day and specific weather. Here are just a few of my favourites:

8. Vespertine

Occurring in the evening.

9. Idyllic

Extremely peaceful or picturesque.

10. Petrichor

The pleasant, earthy smell after rain.

11. Resplendent

Splendid or dazzling to look at.

12. Erstwhile

In the past, at one time.

Beautiful words that describe human experience

There are some human experiences that seem difficult to put into words. However, the English language probably has a word that is just right for even the most specific of human experiences. I’m sure you have all felt the following emotions, but did you know there was a word for the way you felt?

13. Clinomania

Excessive desire to stay in bed.

14. Pluviophile

Pluviophile
lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days.

15. Apricity

The warmth of the sun in winter.

Aesthetic words for when you just can’t find the word to describe something

Human beings have always struggled to find the words to explain some things. For this reason, the English language has a lot of words for things that are hard to describe. Here are just a few of the thousands of beautiful words in the English language.

16. Inexplicable

Impossible to explain.

17. Ineffable

Inexpressible.

18. Unfathomable

Impossible to explain or understand.

Aesthetic words that are just simply beautiful to say

Some words are just beautiful to say. They trip off the tongue in a delightful way and sound like music when we hear them. Here are just a few of the thousands of beautiful words in the English language:

19. Ethereal

Extremely delicate, light, not of this world.

20. Supine

Lying face upwards.

21. Syzygy

An alignment of celestial bodies.

22. Quintessential

The pure essence of something or the most perfect embodiment of something.

23. Sumptuous

Extremely, rich, luxurious, or magnificent.

24. Lissome

Slender, graceful and lithe.

25. Effervescent

Bubbly or sparkling, also vivacious; merry, lively.
The English language really is a wonderful language that has taken influences from all around the world. This is why we have so many words to choose from when trying to describe, explain or think about what we are experiencing or feeling. I hope you have found these words inspire you to explore the English language further so you can express yourself in new and different ways.
This article has only touched the surface of some of the most aesthetic words in the English language. We’d love to hear some of your favourites. So if you are a logophile, please share your most beloved words with us in the comments below!

Being In Your Body… ~ The Creator, Jennifer Farley.

My darling child; it is time to fully inhabit your body.

The Universe knows that, sometimes, it is easier to be ‘out there’ rather than being 100% human.

Yes, there are painful things from your past and situations in which you would rather not participate but, your world has gotten to a point where each of you with gifts is in great demand.

You are needed to help change the trajectory of history and your full presence is necessary.

Your opportunity is at hand, please do not let it pass you by.

About Comfort Zones. ~ Thought Adjuster, Oscar.

About Comfort Zones.

Teacher: Thought Adjuster

Message received by Oscar.

Alabama, USA, April 8, 2013.

Posted 2019/05/02

Translated from Spanish by Silvia Adriana Cohane.

Thought Adjuster: “In seeking to consecrate your life to the Divine Will, you are accepting the program of education the Father has designed for you, so you’ll become the highest, most beautiful and true version of yourself — a perfected being. This represents the maturation of all talents and the maximum utilization of all growth opportunities. This also guarantees an eternal future of growth and continuous improvement, for your talents, as well as the Creation of the Father to have no limits. There will always be new things to learn and new and higher expressions of your being in a growing divinity.

“In this life, success has been confused with obtaining material goods. The one who has accumulated the most material things is considered successful. However, true success can only be determined internally. The individual who has achieved mastery of himself understands that he is now the master of his destiny and accepts his role as a student of a reality that is revealed before his eyes as the capacity to receive and understand the truth increases. For this, you must understand that success is not a goal but rather a process, an endless journey towards perfection.

“As in any journey, travelers can observe the path traveled and experience the satisfaction of being a little closer to the goal. Wise travelers also understand that they will only reach their destination if they walk towards it, and that each day’s progress can be measured by the effort to travel the road. Every day in which even a step forward is given is a good day, because you will truly be doing what is expected of you.

“However, beware of getting stuck in a corner of the road. Rest is necessary, but you should always resume your efforts to continue growing. You can clearly identify when you have stopped. These stops are your comfort zones that are often so difficult to leave. It is at these moments when the fear of the unknown prevents you from investing your efforts in taking steps towards the unknown for fear of what could happen.

“However, the journey towards perfection is a journey full of surprises where behind each curve you will find new, higher and more beautiful realities. It is the faith in the appearance of these wonders that drives the brave creatures to move forward. Do not let the apparent calm of the present prevent you from living the future experiences that are most satisfying and rich in lessons, for as you move forward, you fulfill the Divine Will for your life and become the being of Light that your Creator Father intended you to be.”

SACRED REALITY ~ Kate Spreckley

SACRED REALITY.

Kate Spreckley's Inspiration.

2019/05/02.

daily inspiration 2 may 2019.

Like a seed the future is only just emerging and resetting the entire energy flow of the planet. Change cannot be avoided and what we are experiencing in these profound times is the manifestation of that which is in need of healing and or transformation. Whether this be within our world or within ourselves it is up to us to heal, change, transform as we move forward.
As you adapt to the incoming energies a deeper awareness of your soul and its sacred reality will arise encouraging you to reclaim all the lost pieces of your soul. This sacred process will birth a new wisdom and awaken a new peaceful state of being within you. The inner aspects of your soul will then become more and more evident in your external reality changing your life accordingly. Pay attention. This is the time for courageous action. Do not let hesitation get in the way. Consciously step forward with integrity, humility and gratitude.
Much love

Kate
